I owned one of these hhrs until I was t-boned at an intersection at 165,000 miles and I loved it. It was the easiest car to work on, got great gas mileage, was peppy for a 4 cylinder and handled great. The drawback isn't the eco tech engines, it's the transmissions with the sensors sealed in the case. I had to replace the forward sensor at 130,000 miles and after that it ran great. Best car I ever owned.
Thanks for your time and explanation of the tests. A sad out come, I would rebuild it, but that’s me. With the price and availability of a new car, it would be worth it.
yoo i have these same issues with mine, spent over 14k repairing everything im losing my mind and money trying to fix this the garage that was supposed fix my car, kept making up more issues and replacing parts that werent broken to avoid the real issue. im soo depressed over it. did following - full engine replacement - igition coils - spark plugs - fuel pump - water pump - oil gagests but every time car had same issue over and over and garage refused to help me fix it.
Mine nothing like that no vvt just dohc 2.2 seem like use too much gas not because these aren't fuel efficient car to begin with coolant is low possibility 🤔 and misfire for 02 sensor cat converter hope it isn't bad though I'm gonna be mad as hexx if it is
Thank you! May I ask what year this HHR is and where did you find that computer terminal? How long did you wait between adding the oil and performing the compression test again?
2006 hhr with U0073 code. Any suggestions? Just replaced the plugs and coil packs, new battery, valve cover gasket, MAF sensor and a newly programmed TCM... cars ok when I start it, but after it gets warm, say I go into a store then re start it the code gets thrown. When code gets thrown it goes into limp/safety mode with no power and hard shifting pretty much in drivable. If I clear the code while it’s running it drives fine! So while I’ve been trying to figure it out and find time I’ve just been clearing the code after I start it. The code is a no communication bus a off. So it’s something that not communicating but only after it gets warmed up?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Low on cash and need to figure it out myself
If that was the case the spark plug would have been wet with fuel and had a strong smell of fuel. The cylinder was igniting and contributing but just not as much as the others. If what you are saying was happening there would have been obvious signs of rich unburned fuel. I’ve seen it before.
I think you are very confused of what compression is by the way you worded your comment. The injection of fuel is not related to the making of compression. Compression is factor of cylinder volume and its ability to compress and seal the air being compressed. A fuel washed out cylinder (which I assumed maybe thats what you meant) will lower compression if left uncorrected but that definitely was not the case here because that scenario is pretty obvious.
the people in your area are lucky to have you around

Easy to watch and straight to the point!
Excellent video, how many miles does it have on it?
Great video can you share with us the mileage
Me puede mandar el código de color de tu HHR por favor...está bonito

I have liked and subscribed.
Thank you!
Check engine lights a no no in ny i have a 2010 with a p0300 code almost 300 thousand on it
So..... to fix the issue I just watch, what is the cost to repair?
Good video..👍👍
So the MAF sensor can make it backfire and misfire too?

También puedes limpiar o cambiar los inyectores

About the time it takes me to put my compression tester back on and setting up to crank it over again for the testing

My car engine is smoking in the front right side of my Chevy hhr 2008 what do you think is wrong?
have to ask what year hhr 2.2 my 2006 hhr has different coil pack
Good video thanks
👍
Mine has the exact same problem. Does the head need to be replaced?
i can tell you whats wrong with yours without looking at it, you would have to perform some tests.
do you recommend a head gasket sealer maybe????
No way absolutely not!
Those sealants will destroy your cooling system
Is it hard to swap rings on these cars?
never done it on this car but I bet is not too different from any other
WRONG..I BELIEVE the injector can be clogged causing indirect gas into cylinder..not enough to make a full compression..right?..could be possible
