Not sure if I can get an answer to this, but currently my relatives are in limbo/court lockdown on a gift due to a greedy person. Here's the scenario.. My Grama and 1 sister are still alive. Their rich sister died, she had her will/trust set up at a large company that handled everything for her including her investments.. She died, they then sold her house, went through the to do list, sent letters to every beneficiary to be signed, then was to get checks. One evil person, put it in the court to delay this, thinking she will get more money if my Granny dies. She won't due to her children are next in line. We don't know how she did this, what is the reason she gave the court, and can the other relatives lose their portiion of the money? And can she re file after the 6 months to keep delaying it? This is confusing, as my Aunt made sure to spend her life on this, and now one evil person just destroyed the whole plan. I know I would not do this since there is no protection from scammers trying to steal what is not theirs.

So stay we should away from the joint will. Stay away from a mutual will because we can lock the other spouse into what may need to be change before they pass on once we pass on and it would not be fair to the other spouse. Thank you.
