- Jodi Gumbaz is one of the most popular Monument of bijapur which is actually the Dargah of Sufi saints,
In the ancient city of Bijapur, which is situated in the Indian state of Karnataka, there is a magnificent tomb called Jod Gumbaz. One of the most impressive specimens of Islamic architecture in the region, the building was constructed in the 17th century under the rule of the Adil Shahi dynasty.
The name "Jod Gumbaz" refers to the two substantial domes that are perched atop the building and is literally translated as "Twin Domes." The domes are carved with calligraphic inscriptions and elaborate geometric patterns from black basalt.
Jod Gumbaz's acoustics are among its most outstanding characteristics. An excellent illustration of ancient Indian engineering, the building's interior was constructed so that even a whisper could be heard from one end to the other.
Thousands of tourists go to Bijapur each year to marvel at Jod Gumbaz's stunning architecture and learn about the illustrious history of the Adil Shahi dynasty. It is a significant cultural and historical site in the city.

(The Ruler of the Plains) is the largest medieval cannon in the world.
Being 4 meter long, 1.5 meter in diameter and weighing 55 tons, this gun was brought back from Ahmadnagar in the 17th century as a trophy of war by 400 oxen, 10 elephants and tens of men.
It was placed on the Sherja Burj (Lion Gate) on a platform especially built for it.
The cannon's nozzle is fashioned into the shape of a lion's (crocodile) head with open jaws & between the carved fangs is depicted an elephant being crushed to death.
It is said that after igniting the cannon, the gunner would remain underwater in a tank of water on the platform to avoid the deafening explosion.
The cannon remains cool even in strong sunlight and if tapped, tinkles like a bell.
