The fact this was not an official ShoAi or Yaoi anime is just wow 😂 The plot for these two to become couple was just evident. Many moments ☺
It’s a bromance anime but the manga is complete
Just bromance which most manga scanlators tag as BL. The ending of the manga/canon source is still very much shonen... Ironically, it was still HEAVY on the tension between them in comparison to the somewhat shortlived anime, *especially* towards the later half of the series.

If I remember it correctly, the manga ended with grandpa Teito on his death bed, his grandkids around him. He passes on, and a panel of him meeting Frau and the rest of the ghosts is shown.
I love this anime. Teito x Frau/Mikage/Ayanami is so canon to me. I swear they're all gayer than crayons. It's like this: Teito is the widowed wife who mourns the loss of her late husband (Mikage) which was killed by said jealous ex-abusive lover(/daddy) (Ayanami) because she decided to run away from him and eloping/marrying her true love. Witnessing her sadness, she is approached and comforted by her long-time neighbor and friend of her late-husband (Frau), who has developed unknown feelings for Teito, vowing to find the killer and bring peace. Will justice be served? Will Teito ever move on from the loss and find new love?
I swear I'm gonna write the same comment on every 07 Ghost video. . .

Just go for the manga. Fully scanlated. The manga takes you on a high with the tension between Teito and Frau in the later half. Something the anime doesn't have. They also give more family revelations about Teito... The ending is pretty lackluster though. The plot pulls back to typical shonen/ straight AF ending (thus making the BL tag in scanlation directories seem like audience-baiting)..
