Replacing the Jabsco toilet on our Bavaria 36. (01)

- We wanted to replace the ageing Jabsco manual head with an electric version. The footprint of the Lite Flush is claimed to be the same as the original toilet, however - whilst the floor fixings are the same, the rest of it is a different matter. Come along as Owen has fun working out how to make it all fit.
Sailing LadyG is a channel for folks who live hectic lives and only get to play on their boats at weekends and the occasional stolen week cruise, we are just like you - and whilst one day we will sail away into warmer climes - for now, it's the joy of the Solent and South West coast of the UK for us.
LadyG is a 2002 Bavaria 36, 11.4m length with a 1.6m fin keeled draught. We try to do as much boat maintenance work as possible ourselves, would like to use the anchor more than we do and have to fit sailing around work and family - sound familiar? We hope so!
Great video... never have thought a head replacement would be so entertaining.
Good job along with some comic relief. 😂
Thanks for the vid, it seems that light flush does not mean quiet flush then I guess, I had the jabsco electric conversion kit (came with the boat), and that was really loud too. After the jabsco motor seized I decided to replace it with a MATRO
Conversion Kit, so glad I did, not silent but much quieter then the jabsco one I had (and it would seam the lite flush one you have also) and only 1/3rd of the price of a replacement jabsco kit.
I installed the Lite Flush in my Oceanis 393 3,5 years ago and have had to change the flimsy belt no less than 5 times! Eventually I have discarded the toilet and am looking for an electric alternative. Have you had the same issue? Belts do not normally last more than 6-8 months if used regularly (10 times per month aprox.).
Bad idea Sir, on this wc I replace the belt three time for ear, I advice to you to buy two spare belts, not jabsco because is very expansive.
Thank you for the comment, what belt is it best to order (to save money)?
Hi!! my phone number is +393396992719, ok Sir I bought the item Cinghia Dentata GT3 - 270 - 3 MGT - 6 - Gates Power Grip GT3, for 7 euros on amazon, my advise is to buy two belts for spare. If you need some advice call me on WhatsApp, I am proud to help you. I am owner of Ho Ming, Rasmus 35
Hi
Thank you for making the video. This is something I was considering doing - but perhaps looking at your video maybe "having done" might be better!
It was suggested somewhere that ideally an electric toilet should have a dual operation: with separate impeller for water inflow & macerator pump for outflow. Is this how the Jabsco Quiet Flush that you've installed works?
Also, is the toilet always as noisy as it appears in video? Quiet doesn't really describe it.
Thanks
Fair winds
Philip
Hi Philip, I'd certainly agree, the toilet is NOT quiet! The input and output do appear to be separate from what I can understand, I hope that answers some points for you. One small point - the model I installed is the Lite Flush, if I misrepresented then I apologise. However - from my investigations, I am not convinced the quiet flush is in fact any quieter!
Oh and THANK YOU for taking the time to comment - it's rather lovely.
Come to Romania, and try and get bolts fixing and fastenings take a day, time wasted , nice video.
Where did you get the distribution board that you have at ruclips.net/video/9hp32nOjjPY/видео.html I could really do with one of those also we've added this video to a page www.saltylass.co.uk/salty-lass-on-the-web we will be promoting in our emails hope you like

This is what we used, I've used quite a few of exactly this unit over the years as the negative bus is so useful.
