Hate to say I told you so Woody! The steel scourer was obviously the source of the problem… once it became hard to pump, the kids stopped pumping and the calcium build-up meant you were doomed. Last year we managed to draw a small fish into our Jabsco toilet - up inside the top valve gasket! Happy flushing and fair winds mate.

Para tuberías muy rígidas utilizar pistola aire caliente o sin desarmar para soltar calcio hay alambres flexibles con una T en una de sus puntas y la otra puedes colocarla en el taladro eléctrico a baja velocidad

Good stuff. Those galvanic connection wires needed cleaning up too. Use salt & vinegar solution then baking soda solution.

I was sick of calcium building up every couple of months at the bottom of the holding tank and clogging it up, leading me to remove the pipes to clean it. Very messy job. So i installed a 3 way valve and flush it straight to sea now. I can use the holding tank when in marina too.

Jabsco recommends vinegar (acetic acid) to remove limescale. You need enough to fill the pump and the discharge pipe. Let it rest over night and, when you pump it out the next morning, it will do the job in the holding tank. As with aguafuerte (Hydrochloric acid), it gets used up in the process. The trick is to find the right interval to repeat the procedure.
By the way, flushing will get rid of the human waste, but I doubt that better flushing of the toilet will prevent the deposits. Sea water contains plenty of calcium as witnessed by all the sea shells, crabs and coral reefs.

I think it’s the chemical reaction between urine and sea water that really causes the problems.. smells and calcium deposits. I have found that with better flushing both are reduced quite a bit. I also tried an experiment with vinegar and calcium deposits and didn’t find it that effective at REMOVING deposits although it did help PREVENT buildup. Aguafuerte / hydrochloric acid / brick cleaner has an instant effect, but you have to use it sparingly and make sure it’s completed reacting with the calcium before pumping out.. otherwise you’re pumping acid into the sea. I thin boric acid is supposed to work equally as well which I believe is the main Ingredient in Barnacle Buster.. although never understood the huge price for that stuff.

Los tubos plasticos rigidos se pueden reblandecer dandoles con pistola aire caliente

Y tambien a plasticos envejecidos con fuego de gas o aire caliente se les devuelve su color de nuevo

isnt aqua fuerta soluble with water and becomes neutral ? not that harmful to the ocean ;) you could fill the discharge pipe with it and open after 15 min ;)

Probably true.. after it’s reacted with the calcium it loses its potency anyway so mixed with water it probably is mostly harmless.. but just to be on the safe side it went down the marina loo.

It's the hard way and it's the wrong way to clean out the toilet tube. My tube is 1.5" and 6 meter, i cleaned it out in 20 minutes using 30% acetic acid.(Keep the sea water inlet closed while doing it, after putting 6 liter inn little by little and taking my time I flush it slowly out using cold fresh water(no seawater) septic hose should never be near heat and you should never throw hot water in it.

Black water tanks are the most silly and unworkable thing in small boats...

I agree, but in places like Turkey and certain inland crusing grounds they're a legal requirement :/
