I rented a Soul back in 2014 to visit a friend in St. Pete FL. I was surprised. It was much better than I expected. The Soul suspension was decently firm as well compliant on rough pavement, the 2.0L engine w/ CVT was enough to move the little car fine. Giving the Soul EX a 2nd look since Hyundai/Kia updated anti-theft software last year. Hopefully the kids got the news so the brands cars & suvs are safe. Thanks for another good review.
As always, great information. Because of these videos I was very comfortable buying a Hyundai Venue a year ago. Cars have gotten too big. From parking lots to highways, big cars are expensive for everyone, not just the owner. But…enough of that rant. I chose the Venue instead of the Soul because of the box shape. The Venue has great view out. The C pillar of the Soul restricts vision. My mother, who was short, always appreciated riding in a car she could see out. At my old age, I have come to appreciate that view. Every other car has shrinking windows. The Venue is still my choice.
Well said. As I've gotten older a higher driving position makes sense. I have to laugh at myself sometimes. Inside I'm still 16 buying Pink Floyd and Stones records. My body tells I'm 60. Driving a Corvette, Lotus, etc.= non-starter. I'll check out the Venue along with the Kia Soul, Seltos, CX30 Mazda, Honda HR-V to replace an older Camry. Thanks for your take Hyundai Venue.

My dealership forgot to remove a Thanksgiving special, and I ended up getting an upgrade to the 2024 EX for nearly the same price that I was paying for my 2022 LX when I was in for service. Love the EX, has a moon roof, so many bells and whistles. I had to learn about the trunk space here. I kept complaining about the trunk space being so small compared to my previous Soul. Now I have that same space. LOL
This is the second car (so far) that I've heard you mention is an MPI (Multi Port Injection) instead of a straight up GDI. That's a great step forward for the company's engine layouts, as the older GDIs suffered from pretty bad carbon build up.

Went to my local dealership today and got the same exact vehicle. Color and trim. But mine has push to start and sunroof. Just have to wait until 4/4 for pick up.😮
I recently traded my 2015 Hyundai Elantra GT for a surf blue Kia Soul EX+. The only thing I added to it was a 2 way command start to it. I really like it!
Question on Soul MPG: Just bought a 2021 Soul EX w/ 9k miles on it (absolutely great car for the $). On dash screen it tells me MPG I'm getting (says I get around 32 MPG over past several thousand aggregate miles. My question is, is that figure: a) ACTUAL - miles traveled / gallons pumped in? If so, how does car measure gallons pumped in? b) COMPUTER ESTIMATED - set assumed MPG figure applied to various tracked speeds driven? I'm thinking it is the latter, just a computer estimate.
You mentioned the port for doing software updates on the Soul. Could you do a video showing the different methods of doing software updates on both the Soul and if there are over the air updates on certain models/trim levels and if it is automatic or if the driver needs to do something through menus? If you've already covered this could you post a link to the video?

Have been absolutely loving your content! We’re torn between this and the Hyundai Venue (Preferred). Leaning towards the Venue since it’s slightly cheaper and has the snow traction mode, but it looks like this might have slightly more room in the rear seats? How would you say the head and legroom in the rear seats compares between the two? We’ll need to transport a 6ft-2in, 280 lb guy back there from time to time.
I like my kia 2.0 older model, despite not too great suspension. This one presented, have to much of "design estetic details littering". Especially huge front grill with side "mustaches" and narrow looking side - front lights. Also in SA it will be quite very expensive car. Looks as I stay with my old for now 😂 🤔

Why would there possibly be an ending to the Kia Soul when it's become more popular than ever and they keep upping the design on them
