- This is my Crisloid Magnetic Travel Backgammon - Road Trip travel set.
When I bought this set I looked far and wide on RUclips and the internet for others that had this board so I can have a better understanding of how the set looked and sounded but the only one (At the time of this upload) was from Blunder Blots.
I decided to record myself showing this board without my voice so others can see and hear what it sounds like up close, which was important for me when I was in the market for a backgammon board.
Things to note about this set that was not said in the video:
-The travel set showed in the BlunderBlots RUclips channel and on the Crisloid website shows their non-precision white and blue dice. The description of the product said it would include precision dice and these were the dice I got (Which is not pictured or shown anywhere else).
-Although this set is advertised as magnetic enough to stop the checkers from shifting if moved, the checkers do not stay in place when closing the board. I saw on the BlunderBlots video comment section that others had the same issue and had the expectation(Like I did) that the checkers would stay in place when closed. However, this only happens when it is at a complete 90 degree angle; during play these checkers stay in place very well and I have no fear of them shifting out of place during play.
-The material on the outside of the board is a rough, dry and slightly scratchy material (But does not leave scratch marks)
-I do notice that in the edges of the board, there are indents in the frame that can be seen by shadows (Which I think is shown in this video briefly) both on the outside and inside of the frames. It does not feel damaged and looks to be part of the frame process?
-In specific angles, some checkers on the top of them have a circular mark on them which is not caused by the magnetism. I am not sure what these marks are and can be seen clearly in the video. Only a few checkers have these circular marks but they are noticeable in specific light angles.
Overall I love this board and good quality build for the convenient travel size. I hope to play this board on this channel in the future and showcase it more for others that are in the market for this specific set.
Excellent review. Just what I was interested to see. I was initially alarmed to see the checkers jumping from the magnetism when you were setting up the game, but it looks like they are fine during play.
Thank you for your appreciation :) The reason they jumped was due to my weird way of setting up the checkers at the same time fast.
@@coopers6849I do it exactly the same way 😊
