if you can't find a contrast that makes you think "thats it" in your yarn stash, try looking at your fiber stash. you just need a little bit and since its worked with your MC together, it should even out mostly, even if your yarn doesn't turn out the exact thickness. Could be a very fun spin 2 knit project :)
I continue to really enjoy your podcasts. One suggestion I heard a knitter resolve was to say to oneself for example “in the next 6 months I will knit 5 projects from stash and 2 from new acquisitions “ in an effort to be economical
Thanks for another great podcast! I would LOVE to hear about your process for turning a felted sweater into mittens: I (accidentally) felted a sweater recently and am planning to do the same thing :)
Hi from Vancouver 😊 For your wedding cardigan/wrap check out the camille sweater by colibri by johanna and also the fluff patterns by Tania Koenigs. I made the Marta cardigan. She has a few that could be a fairly quick knit and I think you can make almost any fluffy yarn work by adjusting the needle size.
I am currently knitting the Late Summer Wrap by Knitting for olive and I am not sure I would recommend it. The techniques are very fiddly and the length is way too long. If you choose to knit it up, definitely check out other Ravelry projects and make adjustments. I am sure it will turn out a beautiful cardigan, but I did have to make a lot of modifications.
I knit my first ever pair of socks last fall using Mossy Colours and I love how they turned out :-) I think a cream floral design would look super cool w them as a background, though it may be more on the low contrast side. also omg I relate so much to the ~needing specific birds~ on patterns thing hahaha. if you find a black-capped chickadee sweater pattern PLS let us know
What about the birdie sweaters by knitting for olive ? One is with a blue tit and another one with a red bird (don’t know the English name 😅). But I could imagine both designs very well with that Ulysses as background colour. They might just have them only as kids pattern but I think you could just use the chart one any sweater construction.
I’ve been known to use a random number generator to make knitting decisions. Especially when your brain is going around in circles. 😂❤
A cute allover colourwork sweater is the 'Birds and Bikes' by Caitlin Shepherd. It has pidgeons though not chickadees :)

Girl I’m trying to knit down 2024g and I’m currently up 300 lmao
I'd consider white bunnies frolicking on the mossy green socks. Very Spring.....but I don't do color work socks, very much a sock neophyte.
The Lundar sweater is a cute colorwork pullover with puffins on it! I believe it's worsted weight, but they may have made a light version by now :)
Lol so chaotic 😂
I'm planning on casting on the portobello sweater in knitpicks gloss DK, and the mini mock neck tank 👌
i think the nola cardgian with marled multicoloured flowers would be amazing!!

If you don’t have time to make a floaty wrap, the MIKA Summer V Shirt is a pretty quick knit and might suit your yarn.

Last time I couldn't decide what to make I put all my ideas in a tournament bracket
One welcome will do the entire job.
