  • A super fun chip to have in your toolkit is an analog switch or multiplexer (mux) - which can act like an SPST but doesn't require a mechanical switch.
    There's a few things to watch out for, but these are very handy when you want to move analog signals around. The Bus Pyrate design we were working on uses a 4066 in TSSOP - let's find a chip that we can use in this design but also poke around at some other analog switches and muxes that are available on Digi-Key!

    I recently saw an HF circuit that used a multiplexer (a 4051) as an rf mixer. I want to give it a try since I have a bunch of NOS 4051s that I bought back in the 90s
