- 2 INGREDIENTS EASY MILK POWDER RECIPE - HOW TO MAKE MILK POWDER AT HOME. Sometime it is very difficult to find milk powder in rural area, in that case this recipe will helpful for everyone. If you don’t like to buy it from store, you can make it in easy way at home.
Ingredients
Milk - 1000 ml
Sugar - 2 tbsp
I often share good knowledge with my pupils and one of them is how milk is made into milk powder in the factory.
Milk is sprinkled in a hot turbine and what drops down is the milk powder as the process of sprinkling removes the liquid from the milk through the process of evaporation.
To me its an important knowledge as my pupils and all of us consume milk everyday but do not know how it is made. Each year when I get new pupils this is one knowledge I include in my teaching..

You can make sweetened condensed milk with water sugar and a blender with milk powder. It's really good! I have done that before to. Love these hacks I just don't bake anymore but this is great
Well I just learned something new with milk today
Option, if have a dehydrator. Add sugar or honey, simmer down until thick on med/low heat stirring so not to scorch. Once real thick place on fruit leather screen and denigrate over night on fruit dry setting. Grind in blender or coffee. Store in glass jar with lid. Buttermilk can be done same way but leave out the sweetener. Can store up to a year once dry.

I have questions... Why do you add sugar? How long did you air dry it? How much power per 8oz of water to reconstitute it? Do you store in a refrigerator? Would it keep longer if you kept it in the freezer or would it keep at room temp if you pressure canned it until you were ready to use it?
I think the sugar is used to help reduce it and crystallize it. Definitely canning or vacuum sealing storing in cool, dry, dark place and I personally would add oxygen absorbers aka silica packets. Pretty cool! I guess for safety sake you could run it through a dehydrator once for peace of mind.

Store in glass jar in refrigerator. Stays fresh for around four months.
