- Unboxing the Apple Watch Ultra 2 with the white ocean band! Lot's of features in this watch, but nothing that new compared to last years Ultra 1. I'll do a long term review eventually, but for now, enjoy the unboxing!
After almost 1 year of use I think the alpine band is the best allrounder. It’s easy to adjust in size and the band stretches a bit. However the ocean band is the best choice if you workout a lot. You can just rinse it under the tap and you’re done. The ocean band has a more premium feel to it due to it’s thickness, it feels robust and soft at the same time. The trail band just doesn’t appeal to me personally, but it’s a great allrounder for sure.
I own both the alpine and trail loop, and after I spent months using both I really have to say that the trail loop just is the better alpine loop. It has a similar design but is way more stretchy and easier to adjust. What are your reasons for why you prefer the alpine loop? I’m really curious to hear your thoughts on both bands
Can’t wait for mine, would have had mine today, but UPS messed it up. Changed the address so my in-laws could sign for it since I would be at work and of course they come to my place instead and tell me that can’t attempt to deliver it again until Monday 😭

I had the series 8 , so upgrading to the Ultra 2
I wanted one so bad when it first came out but wasn’t in position to get it so a couple months ago I had a opportunity to finally get one I was gonna go with the original ultra to save a few bucks because they look the same but my carrier didn’t have one and I didn’t want one used so I got the ultra 2 and it’s amazing love everything about it the extra brightness double storage and new chip would probably help in the long run
I have the Ultra 1 and will not be upgrading. I use my watch every day and it still looks brand new. The Ultra 2 isn’t much of an upgrade so I’ll wait

i think the ultra version make sense for people who were using stainless steel case version of normal apple watch. Not everybody likes the aluminium look of the standard version (no matter which colour you take they do look pretty cheap IMHO).
Also the Ultra version is the only one with a flat screen.
So it comes down purely to a matter of taste for me.
A decent legacy Chrono watch like Tissot etc. will also cost around 800 box or more, although if well taken care of, they can probably last longer.
But i must say my first apple watch (4) lasted 7 years and it's still like brand new. Only the battery is slowly dying and security updates are no longer offered by apple for it.
And when you compare a stainless steel and an Ultra Watch then the Ultra Watch makes much more sens. You get much more for your money than the standard version and it's the same price.
I think Ultra 2, a big factor is future proofing with new OS updates down the road maximizing the s9 chip.

i had the same model. I'm upgrading mostly because my battery is now to 68% and the Ultra Watch 2 will be a huge upgrade for us.
AOD, flat screen, altitude, etc.

Oh, I have purchased an AWU2 because of the sports and activities I do which includes scuba diving.
My comment was meant as a general statement. I personally get so much out of my AWU2, it’s absolutely worth it, whereas a friend (AWU1) who does no activities and just use the basic features doesn’t see the value, therefore it’s not worth it for him compared to how much value I place on the device.
