- This video was produced in 1997 with my father Al Meixner and I performing in a variety of musical styles with our diatonic button accordions. It’s fun to take a look back to enjoy some of our duets and solos and the approach to how we taught or interpreted the American Slovenian style, European Slovenian style, Austrian volksmusik and an amalgamation of non-traditional styles for the Steirische style accordions.

Interesting video Alex, a pleasure to watch. Given that your father pronounced some titles in Slovenian so well, what is your ancestry?
My father's family is full blooded Burgenlander Austrian. (My mother's family is full blooded Calabrese Italian). He studied all of the Slavic cultures deeply in his years in the Duquesne University Tamburitzans and was a stickler for correct pronunciation.
