I like the fact that this guy at least stores the stuff somewhat properly. Some people buy lots of stuff and then let it sit and become ruined. All this is still salvageable.
Which is really special, because they're all high quality content.
A great job again, Thom.....I've known Bob since the 70's and he is a great guy...I didn't realize he had such a great collection.....and now I know why you were late getting back to Indy for your rookie test!!!!!!!! Joe
Gorgeous video!
I very very like it!
Tom has perfect voice for those videos.
Rick is car enthusiasts hero!
Awesome story, I think I will never forget it.
the 4 door sedans and the Corvette were the best for sure...
Should come Up to Alberta Canada my Dad passed away leaving 3 100x40 foot shops full of old cars restored and old gas pumps also and about 50 old cars in the field behind the shop and about 40 restored in the shops. Ranging from the 30 to the 70's panels mercs sedan deliveries etc…It will blow your mind...
+lucassharman You convinced me :D Anytime (hopefully soon) i'm in that part of the world ... i'll come :D I LOOOOOOOVE old cars.Better said, historic cars (untill 49 included).
This old timer put a smile on my face. keep collecting fella :)
Met an older gentleman the other day had a 48 Ford sedan w/ suicides with a blown 392 Hemi and a LaSalle tranny. Built in the late 50's and early 60's, still all original.
He also had a '55 Chrysler also a 392 Hemi except it had an era correct four barrel setup.
awesome collection.
It's a shame that he's not restored the cars, but at least they're still there!
Great video! Thanks I really enjoyed that.
This man is awesome, i wish i lived in the US so i could go around getting old rust buckets that were once amazing cars :)
these are the best stories
Wow some REALLY old cars in there!
Great piece of Americana....
Excellent video!

I need to get in this guys will
The body is Australian, with American dash, steering, etc. Bodies are interchangeable as are the dash, steering, etc. Aussie bodies also use wood structure in doors and body whereas American doors have metal skin and less wood in body. Those are the main differences.
Bonenberger ha! what a last name
Does anyone know if this was filmed months ago or is it live
i wish i was born back in the early 70's
Nice Story...
Almost 1k videos!
This was a great episode! Remember to make something really cool for video # 1000 please!
I'll take that 1916 Chevrolet "Baby Grand" truing. I got a question for you Hot Rod Unlimited what's the differences between the 1916 Baby Grand and the 1911 Chevrolet Classic Six?
I enjoyed watching this video for sure but with a touch of envy. I would love to own a couple items in that shed and if he didn't see me buy them off his wife may probably not notice them missing
im curious what is the worth of his collection?
I'd love to have his garage
How is it rusting away? Looked like it was all protected from the elements to me.
Any old 50's f100's in there for sale?!?
anything about the 2K14 Toyota Supra?
Hoarder. "I'll restore it someday" led to the loss of so many cars with potential. If you haven't done anything with it for more than 5 or 10 years, let someone else enjoy it!
Because that leaves a chance for restoration. Rather sit in a garage than be scrapped for $20 or left outside to rot.
how much is all that stuff together worth?
Whats car is this ????
Better not tell me where this barn is...I'll do a midnight raid.
It definetly could be a museum in its own right....
Hey Rick why dont you give the younger generation a chance to help you restore some of that stuff before you ...well...you know...
Need Jay Leno come and take a peak and help fix those cars up.
@dustyice I couldn't agree more! :-)
he is going to have one hell of a will to write...
feel like riding the jeep my whole life.
sell some for others to enjoy the history Thanks .
and a friends dad who since passed away moved over from states in early 70s
had his 35 ford phaeton 289 v8 hot rod ,in storage in the barn, at his moms farm in usa
some time in 80s he planed to import it over to OZ , only to find out it was stolen ,long ago ,a man picked it up on a trailer and told his mom he purchased it ,,we have photos of it looking low black and mean in a car park in the late 60s ,
my friend now dreams of a car he may of inherited , thats lost for ever ,sad story ,
7:06 wouldn't the wind fuck the car up
when they said it would take hours to show all the stuff he had ... I kinda wished the video was hours long ...
Automotive archaeology? steal that from mighty car mods? ;)
If you've got a nice car in Indiana, it's no joke, because we've got rust and shit...!
A 35 Willy's for $7.50...I'll pay you double :)
Not all Australian cars were rhd alot of older cars were american my grandfathers first car was a buick
ill take something when he's getting rid of it
Would you have been there to grab them 40+ years ago? No. While sure, they may just be sitting, at least they didnt go to the scrap heap like so many old cars have.
Bonerburger?! the fuuuuckkkk
Well done vid and great to see some of that old stuff. To bad some of these guys who leave foul comments don't have the guts to post some vids and get criticism There a bunch of losers that even if you gave them a car wouldn't know what to do with it. LOL

God I hate when people just hoard things like this instead of actually doing something with them... makes me sad to see cars just rust away.
Yeah, well there we go! @ 5:48 he says, "... and with his successful business..." OK. So go into detail about HOW he was able to keep affording these vehicles, man. That's the cheese cake.
Hello, My name is Teresa Scott and I am in search of my fathers first car, a 1951 Ford Custom Deluxe 2 door coupe with a flathead V8 and 3 speed straight shift on the column. The original color was baby blue. He then completely customized it in 1957. My father is turning 80 in December and I would like to at least have a picture of this car to give him at his party Dec. 07. He sold it around 1959-1962 in Lima, Ohio. His name is William (Bill) R. Johns. Can you help with this?
The following are the customization's he did to the car in hopes this information will help find the car if its still around. I am afraid I do not have the VIN number.
Painted it black and white/ installed seat covers(black & white)/painted all the interior metal trim black and side panels black and white/ added fender skirts on rear and painted all wheels black/added Olds Starfire wheel covers/ removed several emblems on side and trunk, hood ornament/ replaced muffler with a glass pack type/lowered the rear of the car 4 inches at the axel/ cut the bottom of the steering wheel off/ added exhaust cutout/moved the shift lever to the opposite side/modified the dash to add a hidden compartment/ wired hidden switch on tail lights, brake lights and license plate light. Yes, he was a bit of a rebel. Ended up retiring as Fiber Optic Engineer. Turns out he had a genius IQ. lol
Any suggestions to help me find this car would be greatly appreciated!!
Sincerely,
Teresa Scott

Evolution, not revolution!
Me Likey
much better than cars? nah im sorry
cost millions to turn all that junk into usable stuff.
Theyd turn all that into cheap iPhones. But thatll never happen
Such a fucking shame
How the fuck is that Australian when its not RIGHT HAND DRIVE????
I hate the way Australians say razor blades/rise up lights. :-)
Wonder...when the Chinese foreclose on us will the know what to do with these cars?
why have so many cars if you are just leave it in a corner to rust for 40 years?-.-'
Thanks. Great Video. I am glad he could save some of these cars from Obama's "Cash For Clunkers" Program. I think that a lot of Great Cars were destroyed then..
do you have children?
if not leave the cars to meeee :)
You live in a civilized country. But we are from Ukraine cannot buy a nice car because the customs clearance of the car is sooo big money.
Phaeton is definitely not pronounced Fayten. Jesus, you can be a hot rodder and still respect the history of carriage making.
These hoarding guys buy rare cars and other interesting memorabilia and go stick it in a remote shed or barn Most often it sits and get rustier and it's eventually sold by the widow cheap. What a waste and an exhibition a strange kind of greed. Sell it to the guy who will get the car fixed up, love it and get it on the street used and enjoyed you silly old selfish fools!
Hate me all you want but when these people die it will be a better day for the hobby. This guys selfish, hoarding of cars and parts is a big problem in this hobby. If all the vehicles he had were drivers and he drove a different one every day I'd be ok with that. But, just to hoard parts with no realistic time, ability, or money to finish so many is f'ed up.
