No need to remove chair to get to the lower bolt. Just raise chair to max position and remove. Took me 1 hour per chair with less plastic destruction :) (E46)
BLOODY HELL MATE, I consider myself you be a good mechanic, but I struggled today removing seats from two e46 m sports packs, the seat belts were such a hassle, so much so I resorted to youtube to find a solution, and here you are... RAISE THE SEAT UP!! I feel like such a dope I`ll give myself an uppercut. lol thanks.
Great job. People seem to not understand that you're removing he part from the parts car so you don't need to be gentle on the plastic bits as they will be thrown out anyway. I Love your accent and the work is so helpful! Thank you!!
Next time do not destroy the plastic trim pieces to get the belt free. I am confident BMW did not design the process that way.

E34 isn’t a 3 series, E46 is.
Step 1: remove the seat for no reason
Step 2: break every tab on the interior
Step 3: replace seatbelt
