    If you have a habit of fueling your car or truck and when the gas nozzle clicks but you keep pumping because your trying to round up that next whole dollar...STOP DOING THAT. Your overfilling your tank which causes fuel to enter your vapor canister. Once raw fuel is in the canister, the canister is now destroyed. You might not get a check engine light but you will noticd your fuel economy is now slowly dropping and the engine starts having a little shake to her at idle. Change the vapor canister and vapor control solenoid. Hope this helps.

      Hey just came across your comment i did over fill twice and one day turned my car on normally gt to work then was going to move to a different location and my car started after awhile on idle turned off and when i turned key to give it gas it just spit fuel on floor.

    • @brandonjohnson3566
      @brandonjohnson3566 7 месяцев назад +1

      @julioocampo9755 yeah when you overfill your tank, the fuel vapors will create pressure. If there is too much pressure then gas will escape with the vapors out of the filler neck and spill onto the ground.

      Doubt it, at most those little pellets/charcoal would go threw your fuel line, it'll possibly get clogged somewhere in the fuel line, like your fuel filter or stop at your fuel injectors.
      Doubt it'll go anywhere in the oil considering you just have a entry and exit of the engine oil

The dealer couldn’t find anything wrong when I was able to provide them with the code they found that there was a loose plug that connects to the panel. I don’t know if it was the plug going to the harness or the plug going to the pedal, but the wiring harness had recently been replaced, and there must’ve been a loose plug probably at the harness. I did the scotty kilmer cigar and the hose in regards to finding a vacuum leak. Car is a 2017 nissan sentra , it has been running w weak acceleration esp up hill. Back to the possible vacuum leak , the smoke was coming out from behind headlight but straight down on the driver side , if Anybody can tell me what it is I would be very happy!!
    Thx in advance

      Behind the headlight is where the air actually comes in to the intake system. That should not throw a code.

    I have had code P0456 & P0442. I have replaced the gas cap(OEM), purge valve (under the hood) & EGR valve. Still getting the same codes and car feel like it is rough idling about to stall at a dead stop. I have located the charcoal canister. Do you think that may be the problem? I do notice a gas smell.

    Hello Auto repairs, i am using the same Lexus RX300, 1999 model engine 1MZFE. the accident was made by swap/connecting the Vacuum Surge Tank pipe to the water outlet there just below it. The system was filled with water until the water comes out at The Charcoal Canister through the Air Drain Horse. We have tried to remove the water by sucking and blowing through the pipes and even put the new service kit since we found some plugs socked in water. but still the car wont start but cranks. what advice can you give sir

      Did you figure out this problem? Please let me know. I changed out my leaking gas lines on a 2004 Grand Am, and now there's a small liquid gas leak in a big hose that connects the Charcoal Canister to the Canister VENT Valve Solenoid. This seems to be kind of like your problem. Thanks!

      @iiatargetanalyst3046 Год назад

      On top of the gas tank is a cap. On the cap you'll see a 1- 2 inch round rubber hose, the hose is attached to the gas tank cap on the left side of cap, on the cap is a connector the hose is attached to; that connector cracks and causes fuel to leak into the hose, that contaminates inside of the evap canister
      Contact mechanic and have mechanic inspect the connector

    ***New battery ***
    So here’s an update I had check engine light with limp mode. The dealership couldn’t find any codes. I have trouble often on putting fuel in the tank. So I took the canister out check the purge valve with 12 V to be sure it was actuating blew out the canister with air, open the purge valve and blew it out and got some dust out of it, clean the gas tank, pressure sensor with sensor cleaner. Sprayed the purge valve with some WD-40 blew out all the hoses that I could find a blowout put it all back together and we’re still getting an engine light. I remember someone online mentioning low voltage could cause sensor problems. I checked my battery after it sat all night and it had 12.2 V which I thought was a little on the low side so I got a new battery. I discharged power from all the computer boards by touching both battery terminals together after disconnecting them and I drove about 15 miles today with no light. We’ll see what happens. Thanks for the info.

      Maybe buy a trickle charger to keep your battery charged.
      My truck has a parasitic draw that I cannot find so I used one (trickle charger) for a long time. Recently I added a disconnect switch which keeps the battery from discharging.

      I've seen a video where the guy used a air compressor in the vent line that leads to the canister, popped the hose in between the canister and the vent line that leads up to where you put your gas cap on, blew out both ends and he could refill again without replacing the whole unit

      Have you tried warming the canister a bit, (100 to 115 F) and pulling several inches of vacuum for a couple of hours? If the vehicle set unused for months, the charcoal may have become saturated with heavier than normal vapor that is not quickly released by the charcoal.
