  • Hello, here we go again. And we have prepared for you another wonderful story and, yes, we have done our best. To begin with, imagine this. A brand new Ford Model T raced along the road, pleasantly rumbling with an American engine. For a minute the vehicle stopped, as if doubting where it should go next, and after a moment continued on its way. The dust of the road had dissipated, and the smell of exhaust gasses spreaded in the air - the smell of the coming development of technology and the automotive industry. But on the road, in addition to the traces of car wheels, there is something else left... It was a few drops of engine oil that an American car dropped... Suddenly, a little boy ran out of the crowd of onlookers. He ran right out onto the road and began to touch these spots with his little fingers. He was all dirty, but very pleased. For some reason, it seemed to him that he had never inhaled anything more pleasant until that day. Inhaling the smell of this technical liquid, the boy remembered this case for the rest of his life. At that moment, he may not have realized that he had touched a particle of his future. But as it turned out, this incident on the road will affect not only his own future, but also the future of millions of people around the world...

I used too have a bunch of older Honda's early 90's models and one late 90's Accord EX. I've moved onto Toyota I never looked back, more reliablitiy, easy to work on and replacement parts are cheap.

My first Honda was a 2010 Honda Pilot. My second was a Honda mower (circa 2020MY to my belief) I’ve worked for the company ongoing 12 years… Things have changed so much since I’ve started! But I’m hopeful one day we will return close to what was years before I started! One thing is for sure though, I will support what Soichiro started as long as the company continues the core basic values of quality and safety over quantity.

In 1978, my parents bought a Honda Civic CVCC; their first new car.
The spacing between the cylinders was too close for the head gasket to last.
It would routinely blow between the cylinders, not effect the oil or coolant and limp home with low power.
At home, my dad kept a spare gasket with a hook in the garage ceiling to slightly lift the cylinder and quickly swap out the gasket.
Would blow on way home from work, park in the garage, eat supper and let it cool off.
Drain a little coolant, change gasket, dump the coolant back in and drive it to work the next morning.
He worked as a Tool & Die maker, had the head checked, was true.
I was a small child at the time, but remember him showing me the blown gaskets and the small spacing between the cylinders.
He spun the engine over by hand with the head lifted and explained to me how an I.C.E. works; I was amazed the process could happen so quickly.
I might have been in kindergarten; I understood and it made a strong impression on me.
Really glad Honda made that cylinder spacing too close; tought me alot at a young age.
Today, I own an updated 1964 Honda Super Cub C102, 125cc semi-auto 4 speed electric + kick start.
All new reproduction parts from Thailand, Malaysia, etc.
Brand new engine bolted in original mounts and restored body.
Light weight and easily fits through door ways for storage inside.
The Honda man himself had a big influence on the design of the first gen Super Cub.
Honda and his business partner took a trip to Europe to study their designs and uses.
Invented the 17" wheel, to cope with Japan's roads and semi-auto clutch, to free up left hand for delivering noodles.
They still sell well today, dealers around here can't keep stock of Super Cubs or CT125's.

I did not know, that one of the worlds best innovating automotive manufacturers, one that was ahead of the rest, and in many ways the best of the best, could fall asleep at the wheel.
The 90s Japanese financial crisis really hit Honda hard, but after the global financial crisis, RIP Honda.
