I'd love to see the Tasmanian Devil get some representation. It's one of my favorite Australian animals, and with Australia working hard to conserve them, it would be a great addition to the conservation part of Planet Zoo.

I know most zoos don’t have that much animals from Australia but I think some more animals from ociana are needed
My current zoo is Australian themed. For at least half of the Australian animals I have to use mods. I'm currently working on a Tassie themed complex using Leaf's Tasmanian devil mod. It's a good mod, but I totally agree that they need to make Tasmanian devils official. The mod just doesn't do these creatures justice.

I would really love an extinct animals DLC. I'm not talking about dinosaurs or mammoths. But about the dodo, quagga, and especially the thylacine - I adore this animal. It would raise awareness about species that are disappearing because of humans.

That’s more likely than mammoths and stuff because they are more recently extinct. Like the Thylacine/Tasmanian tiger went extinct in the 1960s-1970s if I’m right. And the quagga went extinct in the 1800s. (I so think at least.)
A dextinction pack could work as the dodo, thylacine and mammoth are supposed to be coming back in the next few years, through Colossal Biosciences. Maybe add in something else thats possible but not confirmed like a Madagascan Dwarf hippo, caribbean monk seal, Atlas bear, etc.
I still think it's odd that we have a dodo statue in the game but not an actual living dodo.
Definitely need the Secretary Bird and Wolverine! We also have a very deep need for more bird species. If we do get an aquatic pack, I want to be able to have exhibits full of sea dragons and starfish, and touch pools with little sharks. It would be so cool to make tank habitats that the guests can walk through as well, with the rays and fish going over their heads. :')
I would love an island animal pack. It could have Tasmanian devil, one of the tree kangaroos, Australian pelican, vervet monkeys, Guinea fowl, rhesus macaques, kiwi and for the exhibit animal it could be aye-aye. Then for the anniversary we could have the secretary bird.
And also, for the last DLC we could have a ‘requested animal pack’ which would have no theme other than animals we want. But that’s just me
While I think it was an absolute travesty that they made a Europe themed pack and included the Eurasian lynx over the Iberian lynx, what I'd like to see the most is a true freeform mode. One of my favourite things to do in Zoo Tycoon was to make a zoo where everything went wrong or create an ecosystem simulation where the animals could actually live like wild animals, and neither of those are possible in the game right now.
I agree with you,I'm from Portugal a country that has Iberian Linx and is one of my favorites animals from here,and I want to see them in future dlc of the game
100% this, i would love to be able to create entire ecosystems as a simulation thing and watch the animals interact as if it was in the wild
I would love a 'wings and swings' animal pack including half and half birds and primate as we barely have any in the actual game 🤞

I never build for primates in Planet zoo so I always genuinely forget they exist, but I'd love a cold climate dlc that would bring the walrus and musk ox. Them not being a very common zoo animals is not really an issue since we got for example the platypus or proboscis monkey.
I love hoofstock so I don't mind them being over represented in the game, so I'd like to nominate the greater kudu :>
I also would really love to have the secretary bird, but another bird id love to see is the Seriema, it’s a smaller terrestrial bird but still big enough to be a habitat animals, plus they do appear in some zoos
I really think we should get a india animal pack as india as a lot of cool animals like the nilgai, black buck, gaur, lion tailed macaque, sloth bear, king cobra, markhore( or any other Himalayan sheep.) Asiatic lion, grey langur, nilgris thar these are just a few of my thoughts
EDIT: I forgot to mention the axis deer whice is one I really think should be added.
Axis Deer and Nilgai are so weird to have been never represented in any Zoo game considering Axis Deer is the stereotypical asian deer and Nilgai is literally the largest living antelope in Asia

I have at least a dozen species from this classic gem series I wished for to add into Planet Zoo’s roster, these include the Bighorn sheep, Markhor, Nile Crocodile, Gerenuk, Masai Giraffe, African Spurred Tortoise, Barbary Ape. The ones i really wish for includes Australian species such as the Northern Hairy Noses Wombat, Eastern grey Kangaroo, Numbat, as well as the American Flamingo and green Peafowl, and most importantly the Ratel for its reputable personality and the Emperor Penguin for its similar but iconic representation from the franchise and for adding more obscure species
Completely agree with you on the blackbuck. It would fit nicely among the Indian animals in PZ, and be able to mix with the Indian Rhino.
Another couple of Tycoon species I miss: Spectacled Bear and Markhor.
Also I’ve been saying this for a while, but my dream pack or hell even expansion pass would be one based on the Zoo Tycoon games, mostly ZT2 for realism, but one that could bring in ZT1, ZT2 (along with semi-aquatics including Sea Turtles), and ZTXbox (obviously not all) animals would be a dream, and probably the best way to end this fantastic game
Maybe the turtles, JWE2 just got one in the last dlc, but in PZ we only have tortoises and the Terapin so far. And they are slow on land, but semi-aquatic. Should be a fit
ngl I rather want a big size expansion with a ton of new animals and new "mechanics" like an full aquatic/aviary/petting zoo expansion than small animal packs.
You have covered basically every animal I have wanted yet to see in Planet Zoo.
However as for exhibit animals, I would love to see animals like the Giant Japanese Salamander, Green Basilisk Lizard and maybe a walkthrough Hummingbird habitat.

As a kid I was obsessed with ZT2's secretary birds and it made them one of my favourite animals. I definitely agree on the baboons, I'd love to have one of them in the game. Plus, animals that live in big groups are just fun in Planet Zoo! Definitely need more monkeys. Also mustelids like the ratel and wolverine would be great to see again, though I'm as happy as can be with the badger being included (my favourite animal!)
I remember being really into the colour variations Zoo Tycoon 2 animals had after Endangered Species. Planet Zoo does have that, but I'd love to see that more, especially on the African wild dog. I think some sort of algorithmically generated coat pattern would be wonderful for them, but I am no programmer so that might be a bit hard to do.
If all else fails, I'm glad Planet Zoo has an active modding scene producing very high quality content so soon after the game released. It took Zoo Tycoon 2's a bit longer to really get their footing. Fond memories though.

I wonder if they actually make secretary bird, would that be a beginning of bird mods? Like ZT2 ABC Aves? Still amazed by the Sphinx Macaw, Puffins and the mods that made them able to fly longer and higher. No mods for hanging on the tree branches though.
Extinct Animals would be an awesome edition, the Stellar Sea Cow, the Great Auk, the Passenger Pigeon, the blue buck, the Hasst's Eagle , the Dodo Brid, the Saber tooth Cat and the T-Rex. But it's a long way to add these amazing creatures of the past.
Here's the likely Candidate for the the Pack Highland for the regular exhibit here is 5 the Andean Condor, the Himalayan Brown Bear, the Mountain Lion, the Bongo and the Vicuña. For the small exhibit the New Zealand Mountain Opossum.

Here’s the animals from Zoo Tycoon I want in Planet Zoo: Blackbuck, sea otter, wolverine, rockhopper penguin, walrus, Japanese serow and bottlenose dolphin.
Some of the other animals I want in the game are the chital, vervet monkey, argali, bush dog, Arabian oryx, gaur, impala, squirrel monkey, desert hedgehog, sugar glider, Hamadryas baboon.
Also birds like the bald eagle, mallard, rainbow lorikeet, raven, Atlantic puffin, Palawan peacock-pheasant, wood duck, scarlet macaw, birds of paradise, Andean condor, Indian hornbill, northern white faced owl, sacred ibis, spur winged lapwing, quetzal, Eurasian bullfinch.

I miss so much the Markhor. Hope one day we get like a "Central Asia Pack" with it, Palla's Cat, Indian Naja, Saiga and others. In my opinion, Snow Leopard is kinda "out of place" as the unique Central Asia symbol.

Like you said if we aren’t getting full flying birds, the roadunner, along the secretary, will be the perfect choice.

Birds. BIRDS are missing. We are starved of birds, and stuffed with enough mammals.

I knew the Zoo Tycoon species and subspecies not in Planet Zoo (yet), excluding the ones that couldn't last, survive and breed in zoos in real-life.
Zoo Tycoon (2001) with just Endangered Species Theme Pack: Olive baboon, African leopard (spotted one's location was African savannah), blackbuck, American black bear, Mexican gray wolf, Japanese serow, Indian or Indochinese leopard (black one's location was Southeast Asian rainforest), markhor, bighorn sheep and emperor penguin.
Zoo Tycoon 2 (marine mania and extinct animals excluded): Emperor penguin, Nile crocodile, African leopard (as black leopard and location's African rainforest), musk ox, crested gibbon (male is black and female is orange/brown), Spanish lynx, spectacled bear, wolverine, African spurred tortoise, barbary ape, gelada, gerenuk, Masai giraffe, ratel and secretary bird.
Late to the party, but as a lover of Hoofstock I absolutely agree on the Blackbuck, Asian hoofstock in general seems really lacking for some reason, and I could absolutely see a Indian pack being mostly hoofstock along with the Blackbuck being Gaur, Nilgai, Chital, and Markhor, along with one of the species of Langur/Macaque, and some of the many gorgeous smaller carnivorans and rodents. But honestly there such a ridiculous amount of diversity in India alone you could break it up into three/four separate biome-specific packs and not run out of choices.

However I also have quite a soft spot for the Masai Giraffe that was in ZT2, such a unique coat 💛 From working as a tour guide I can also tell that there is suprisingly few people aware that there isn't just "giraffe" as one species but that there are actually different types of giraffes, so I'd be extra cool to see these beauties come in and bring awareness to that :D

I personally think tasmanian devil, rhea and andean bear.
I think it would be cool to see parrots, panthers, and the American black bear and just a whitetail deer and Rosevelt Elk and coyotes and bald eagles so like a North America pack part 2
If going by ZT1-2, Blackbuck, any Baboon and Secretary Bird are definitely needed. If going by non-ZT affiliated species - a primate pack of some
sorts (i.e: Mantled Guereza, any Tamarin, any Spider Monkey, any Howler/Squirrel Monkey and Lion Tailed Macaque)
and (unpopular opinion) "reskinned" species are needed - In the back of the line, but still needed (i.e: Sumatran Tiger, Syrian Black Bear).
Long story short, I think Frontier has so much more to grasp for in the grand scheme of things and it'll be intriguing to see how far they take it.
I’d really like to see either walruses and/or elephant seals in Planet Zoo
I've tried to do a coastal zoo in PZ and it just feels SO incomplete without the walrus and harbour seal. I'm with you on the secretary bird too, though I would also love a kiwi!
I would even be happy if we got a new type of avian exhibit. I think some small exhibits would look really cool with some little parrots in or something. I'm so over hoof stock now, I think we'd just be splitting hairs adding any more - unless its bovines, give me every single bovine ever please, thank you! There's so many unique looking cow species, like the watusi!
There's also the Bighorn Sheep, American Black Bear, Honey Badger, Nile Crocodile, Markhor and Emperor Penguin because I do not accept that ripoff excuse known as the King Penguin as a replacement
While many complain about new animals being meerly reskins of already existing ones (literally the first comment I saw about the upcomming Oceania DLC because of the penguin), I see every tiny bit as an increase of diversity for the zoos we build. Heck I sit here and would love to have all remaining crocodilian species out there or even african forest elefants and more giraffe and zebra species xD
I get why they don’t include extinct animals, it is beyond me why they have yet to include any full aquatic animals. I’m sure there’s a way to include it even if it is significantly simpler than the main game build system.
Edit: Maybe controversial opinion, the Walrus is the NUMBER ONE animal missing from Planet Zoo.
Don't forget the Markhor! The last remaining true legacy animal featured in both ZT 1 and 2!!

We need more African antelopes, primates and aardwolves, and penguins.
I think fully underwater animals are essential, if its too difficult to make them habitat animals, add them into walkthrough exhibits, imagine how cools it'd be to have kind of a tunnel where you can see sharks underwater OR even add aquariums for fish, sharks, dolphins, orcas, stingrays etc
I want more birds like the shoebill, bearded vulture, condor, owls, etc.
Short of that or a fully aquatic pack, a mythical animals pack. Unicorns, dragons, gryffons, etc, would lend itself to some amazing decor too I think.

There are birds that can fly that are in zoos and in the game already (Flamingos and storks).
a lot of animals more common over here in australian zoos are missing. some perfect examples are the greater bilby, short-beaked echidna, numbat, perentie, tasmanian devil, a more arid species of wallaby (yellow-footed rock wallaby is a great example), little penguin and i'm sure they're not very interesting to most other people, but i'd love to see the eastern grey kangaroo (they just make more sense to keep in an enclosure with koalas than red kangaroos)

I don’t know if you do requests, but could you do a what if on “What if the Planet Zoo pack’s introduced as many animals as the Zoo Tycoon packs” basically if each pack introduced 20 animals (excluding Extinct animals) and see how that would possibly impact future packs because let me tell you all I could think up for the Arctic Pack was introducing the Arctic Fox earlier, alongside the Musk Ox, Snowshoe Hare, maybe Canadian Lynx, and the Wood Frog for an exhibit and that’s it without diving mechanics, fully aquatics, and flying birds
From this list, I would love to have Olive Baboon, Blackbuck, Secretarybird, and Wolverine!
I'm holding out hope for Scarlet Macaw and Toco Toucan (perhaps naively).
Another classic game I played is SimSafari, and I wish PZ had a Duiker! A good Asian parallel to that would be a Reeves' Muntjac.
I want there to be olive baboon, greater kudu, impala, common eland, American black bear, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, grey crowned crane, vultures, eagles, and parrots.

I think they could add an Asian lion because we have the west African lions but Asia has lions too and they’re kinda underrated compared to their African counterpart

Since when do we know that Frontier doesn't like monkeys or is allergic to birds? I'm up for all of the picks you mentioned, though I'm more interested in the gelada baboon. Birds are hard, and I'm sure they're working hard to make something authentic for the flying birds than just have a loop of them flying around. There's also the social behaviors too.
I've seen the walrus in the wild and I agree with you. They're really awesome and I feel like needed for some more arctic representation, along with the Leopard Seal and the Elephant seal for antarctica representation. Another baboon like the olive baboon would be great. They have a different biome than the Mandril and are more grassland animals. So way more different than Mandrills.
and yeah the Secretary bird....Frontier for some reason don't like birds. Where are my pelicans, storks, swans and more cranes? :(
King Cobra, Vampire Bat, European/Carpathian Wolves *cough am a Dracula fangirl of course lol*, Blackbuck (I totally agree with you on this Leaf), Piranha fish, and Bobcat (I know that's six lol but those are ones which should be in game for me lol), flying birds as well as bats, ravens for example (throw in the d*mn Hitchcock code will you guys?!) lol, wolverine and more members of the weasel family as well (I know I've exceeded the five you suggested lol but ehh they need to stop shoving icky spiders and bugs at us and go with more of the ones I recommend lol).
I'd love semi and fully aquatic animals as well. Nile crocodile as well as more of the crocodilian family, Otters, Sea Lions as well :)
the first thing Im doing once planet zoo stops updating is download every single monkey mod out there so yes please frontier give me more monkeys Im begging you
Blackbuck represent! Asian hoofstock are indeed lacking, and India feels incomplete given that the roster is really tied to what building themes get features. It would be nice to bolster the vanilla India roster with Blackbuck and maybe some other Indian/Asian ungulates.
For animals that were in ZT2 I'd want the Walrus, Spectacled Bear, Rockhopper Penguin, The Leatherback Sea Turtle & Green Sea Turtle.
It would be nice to get Birds and not like how we got butterflies were we place down this cage. I would like to be able to build my own habitat and have it use everything put in there. They sure have a caging/netting barrier that would stack on top of each other like the walls. If we were to get birds they could easily make at least like 20 for a pack Becuz you can just copy and paste birds and change some things. I'd love for fully flying birds - Scarlet Macaw, Toucans, Grey parrots, Spix Macaws, The Hornbill, Eagle, Harpy eagle. Maybe for smaller birds - Lilac-breasted roller, Budgies, Conures maybe the Sun conure, & Rainbow lorikeet.
My rant (Lol): You know what I really hate. Companies who make games like Planet Zoo. They make this kind of game that is something we all want. Yet they don't really give us what we really want. We want birds, we want semi & fully aquatic animals! They'd make BANK on Birds & Aquatic packs real quick if they did so. I mean come on now is it really that hard to please all your fans/followers/players - No. I hope they continue to give us plenty of animals to come in the future. Which they probably won't BUT you never know. I think if the game has a big presents and the people buy the DLC's they will probably keep giving. Even if they don't have a big presents anymore we should still get a new DLC maybe once a year or something at least a little something here and there. Not just randomly stop giving us new things.
ZT series animals we don't have yet that I'd like to see: Wolverine, Secretary Bird, Spectacled Bear (which wasn't included in this video). The other three main animals I want to see - Shoebill, Tasmanian Devil and a Kiwi species. That's without getting into more flying birds. If we're going to top 5, I'd actually drop the Secretary Bird but it's close between that and the Spectacled Bear.
Frontier hadn't released an official gerenuk either.
my biggest wish is a Treetop-Pack -> Coaties and Treekangoroos are at the top of my list.
other not treetop animals on my List are Tasmaniac Devil, ground Hornbill and the Eland. aaaand so many more tbh :D

I just want birds... I mean seeing as we already have bats which are flying creatures, I think we aren't too far from birds. One free update with 4 birds and a bird pack with 8 would be awesome...
I would definitely enjoy some prehistoric animals. Whooly mammoth. Saber tooth. Thyla. Whooly rihno etc.
The Wolverine and Hamydras Baboon are just essential animals in general

I would love to have different types of farm animals that visitors may pet and feed them selfs. In sweden we have sev eral of these like unice old breeds of cows, horses and such.

Id love the walrus or even the elephant seal. The Sea Otter would also be really cool. Im already imagining a California Coast area of a zoo! Id also really love the Nile Crocodile, since we still dont have an African Crocodilian

Wolverine and walrus for sure, Tasmanian devil, and what I want the most the Japanese giant salamander. I just think it would look so incredible in zoos.

I miss the honey bager, african spurred tortoise, wolverine, musk ox, spectated bear, nile crocodile and the walrus from the semi aquatick. Also if I can say two famous zootycoon 2 mod from Artifex: rock hyrax, hamadryas baboon and black stork from arabian night and all the animals especially aye-aye, spotted cuscus ,dingiso and Visayan Warty pig from island excursions.
But I would also love to see a recently extinct pack not a everytime extinct I mean animals between Ice age and modern time: from zoo tycoon extinct animal: american mastodon, mautitius dodo, elephant bird, bluebuck, quagga, aurochs and althoght its more ancient but the sicilly dwarft elephant also I would love to see the extict animals fences and scenery. For a erecently extinct pack I would put in the Great auk, Palaeopropithecus, megaloceros, barbary lion, caspian tiger, Southern pig-footed bandicoot, moa, Saddle-backed Rodrigues giant tortoise or the Meiolania too for extra choice. Also I would keep some fossil puzzle game thing and DNA research and disase research from zoo tycoon 2 extinct animals.

Brilliant list, I agree with all of these picks! The only thing to add is the wolverines insane cousin. Either would be amazing to have, and if we ever get one without the other there’s always anniversary animals.

Pallas cat and gelada could both be part of a 'mountain pack'. Along with spectacle bear, chamois, markhor, alpine marmot etc... All nice species to have.
ratel or wolverine, definitely either one should be in the dlc, timeless species from zt2; also gerenuk, but i think narwhaler's mod kinda did justice for it graphically so i could wait (for frontier's offical version and new animations)
