Oh how cool that they have the cloak worn by Christopher Lee. I loved those Hammer Dracula films. I never realized how heavy that cloak had to be. Wow.
It's full of museum type items displayed in the best possible way. There used to be people dressed up years ago who used to jump out and scare you. I just love the atmosphere in there 🌛🌕🌜
I'm in whitby now and i visited the DE yesterday. Some of the things are different from this video. Just before you go up the stairs their is a big werewolf to the left now and to the right of the stairs behind bars is Dracula (Gary oldman's version) and he moves towards you speaking. Their are some other minor differences also, but your right what you said about being able to see more through the phone than the naked eye. I missed alot of details because things were not lit correctly, but it is still a very good experience and I would do it again and notice more this this time. Good video!!!
WOW, thank you so much for letting me know 💜💜💜 This video is a couple of years old now as I remember wearing a face mask. When I next go back to Whitby, I will have to make an updated version. Whitby will always be a special place to me as we got engaged and had our honeymoon there ! Such a special place 💜🌛🌕🌜💜
@@goldenwolfhm congratulations! I would defo go back again. Its the first time ive ever been and I have just spent the last four days there with the weather really good and staying in a place overlooking the entrance to the harbour directly opposite the abbey and church. I replayed your video again but outside behind the DE building to try and show friends where the door was that you exit at the back, as I couldn't remember which one it was. Anyways just arrived back in Leeds. I didn't want to leave whitby especially on the summer solstice and the longest day. Again thanks for the video Helen.
It's just started raining here in Derbyshire, so at least you were away when it was nice. Whitby is not the place to be when it's raining! So glad you enjoyed the video 💜🌛🌕🌜💜
It's changed quite a bit now since years ago...it's not as dark..u don't get ppl jumping out at u if I recall from years ago..and now there's a set of stairs too use..but the bonus is a little cinema booth too watch the history of dracula..still good but doesn't have same scare factor🤔😫
Was in Whitby last week - disappointed to see that the DE was closed for maintenance - which I recall was the same when we last visited about 20 years ago ! That is a lot of time to deal with maintenance ! Perhaps next time ?
Its quite dark and the floor is a bit uneven so tread carefully.. its not very scary tbh..only if your a kid maybe, there is a short film you watch at the end which is interesting..£4.00 entrance.

Ah that's crap. I remember going as a kid back in the 90s and the people in costumes scared the shit out of me.

The music is the Haunted Mansion music from Disney World.
Caught that as well.
This might sound like a stupid question but it is absolutely pitch black inside

Oh no sorry to hear that it scared you ! I hope my video didn't have the same effect!. It is certainly a very atmospheric place to visit 🌛🌕🌜
