I’ve gone through a lot of 1series/N54 content and I was thoroughly impressed by the sheer amount of stats and knowledge you have when it comes to these cars.
Thanks for watching. I have had a lot of fun tuning my cars over the years and it’s a joy to be able to share my passion
Nice review, no fluff. *Good job!*
Thanks a lot. Seeing your 135i kicking ass in 2016 was one of the reasons why I bought mine!
That turbo sound! Good vid man
Nice turbo sound. Great video brother lots of info, and content!
Keep the content coming this was a great video and review man! All the way from Jamaica 👍🏽
Straight to the point! I love it!
Good shit bro nice meeting you today. Looking forward to future content.
Thanks man. Good meeting you too! I'm looking forward to the next Euroklasse event
Looking nice with the sunroof
Great content and a very informative video !! Would love to see more videos like this one !
Matthew, good video,. That car sounds the business and looks to be plenty of fun. The base engine is a delight even with 300bhp, I can understand the addiction with 500! Keep up the good work.
Thanks! This is only the beginning. There's far more to come!!
Dude you did incredibly well with this video your speed your content your information and the footage good work
Thanks a lot
Awesome video....looking forward to more...👍🏾
More to come brother!

You bet! Thanks for watching!
Nice review dude👌
Thanks 👍🏾
Your presentation is on point 🙏🤘🏾👌
Thank you 🙏🏾
great channel mate
Thanks!
Good review. You need a job on tv bro. Flawless, no fluff, concise and rather eloquent.
Comments like that make my effort worthwhile. Thanks a lot!
Great video!
Thanks
Check out my other videos 👍🏾
In the market for a 135i myself and came across this video at 44,444 views. Awesome build! Hope to hoon around in my own soon enough!
You will have a lot of fun in the little hooligan car. These cars are getting older, so do plenty of research before buying. Reliability isn’t great, meticulous maintenance is essential and repairs can be very costly, if the car hasn’t been maintained properly. The N55 is more reliable but the N54 is slightly more responsive to tuning
@@TheSpeedAddiction amazing! Thank you so much for the advice. I’ve also been looking for a manual car as I believe that driving experience would be spot on for me. But would you say the DCT is a worthy option? I’m wondering whether I’ll be able to find a lower mile manual transmission car these days 🤔
This is an epic video
My newer videos are even better..
Thanks! Awesome video. I agree with everything you said, and it's really nice to see someone actually saying it about the 135i.
PS: Do the LSD, you won't know yourself - you'll wonder how you ever lived with the car without it.
Thanks for your comment. The 135i is in definite need of an LSD. Traction is definitely a problem..
How much do those run, installed Will?
Outstanding! Thank you
Thanks for watching 🙌🏾
good sound
Hey there I wish you were on about suspension of the 335i, great information
The information also applies to the E9X 335i because their chassis are almost identical. The 3 series is a couple of inches longer, so the 3 series is a little more stable out of the box.
Nailed IT!
Thanks!
This was a really good review. My only advice is to work on the clarity of your annunciation a little bit, and to turn down the music a bit. Overall great job.
Thanks a lot for your comments. This was actually the first review I ever made and my first time on camera. Incremental improvements are being made all the time ..
Fire video!
Thanks for watching 👍🏾
@@TheSpeedAddiction I just got mine today!
Enjoy 🙌🏾
@@TheSpeedAddiction thanks brother💯
Sold!!
I fuckin love this video
Hey man, great video, you're very knowledgeable about these cars. I can't tell you're from the UK with your accent. I'm here in UK & have just purchased my first ever BMW. A 2011 1M Coupe. It is stock power, but has had H&R ARB's front & rear & I noticed it's had Poly bushes on rear diff. I'm getting used to it & is quite lively on back end under boost if I turn off traction. It comes with Toyo Proxes tyres, which I don't really know how they compare to others. I've just done some routine maintenance & replaced belt, tensioner & pulleys along with upgrading metal hose flange (mickey mouse shape) & will upgrade pcv valve to metal as well. I also want to get a aluminium Charge pipe.
Congratulations on the purchase of your amazing car. If it’s lively at the rear, unless you are referring to damp roads, I would assume that it has been chipped because the 265 rear tires, providing they’re in good condition, should be easily able to contain the stock power level.
I personally wouldn’t tune the engine any further because it’s a collector’s item, I would focus in keeping it perfectly maintained and enjoy the exciting driving dynamics. I would upgrade the charge pipe because the standard one is crap but you only need to upgrade the PCV valve at over 500bhp.
@@TheSpeedAddiction Thanks for your input on that. It actually is running 275 tyres on rear. It feels about stock to me but hard to tell. My previous car was an EVO 8 tuned to 380bhp which was slightly more punchy, but not by much. Yes, the traction control light always flickering if you get on power a bit too soon, but maybe its the not so smooth roads here in UK, that makes it feel twitchy. Regarding the pcv valve, I already purchased an aluminium one to swap out as I've heard it does help the crankcase breath better, even at stock power, so as I'm there changing plugs, thought it worth doing. With the Charge pipe, I didn't fancy going with a BOV, was contemplating upgrading the Diverter Valves to maybe Forge ones, as have heard the stock Diverter Valves can leak a bit.
This dude is like a black scotty.
Subbing now.
🤣 Scotty Kilmer? It’s not my intention.. Appreciate the sub 👍🏾
@@TheSpeedAddiction Just the mannerisms.

Appreciated mate 👊🏾
Nice 👍
WTF this acceleration to 210KM/H is INSANE !!!
These N54s are feisty with some ethanol, downpipes and a tune 😎
I’m glad you talked about the horrendous stock suspension. Besides power mods, all I’ve done so far for handling is an LSD and subframe bushing inserts. Springs and dampers and front sway bar are my next mods.
Springs and dampers will be a great next mod. I would add camber plates at the same time. Dinan fixed camber plates are a good option.
The Speed Addiction by e90 upgrades did you mean the US e92 chassis?
The M3 E90 (sedan), M3 E92 (coupe) and M3 E93 (convertible) suspension components can be fitted to the E90,92,93 non-M cars - along with the 1 series. I believe the M3 sedan and coupe suspension components are identical but the M3 convertible has a thicker front sway bar. Hope this makes sense 😊
The Speed Addiction thank you bc I wanted to do M3 upgrades to my 1 series any reccomendations! Love the video and energy!
In my opinion, springs and dampers should be changed first - lots of options depending on if you want a street or track set up. There's a ton of info on 1addicts.com. Then get the M3 front sway bar.
Kia ora from New Zealand, I absolutely love the n54 and n55 series, and luckily over here in NZ we can pick them up with lowish ks between $9000 to $23,000 depending on how many ks it has done and weither it has, the msport package or not, but in saying that if I ever do get the opportunity to buy one what mods would u suggest to do that are safe and reliable but has the ability to still outrun a m340i and a c63s amg for example?
A stage 2+ N54 (downpipes and intercooler) will beat a stock M340i and give a W204 C63 a good race. I’m not sure about a W205 C63s. The N55 is significantly more reliable but doesn’t respond as well to simple bolt ons
@@TheSpeedAddictionThank you man for the feedback, now I have time to figure out which one I want hahaha
Love this. Can the subframe bushes and sway bar be installed without modification?
Yes, although it’s a significant job to install the rear subframe bushes because the rear subframe needs to be dropped
@@matthewspringer3305 Understood. Would the OEM M3 bushes be the recommendation or are aftermarket poly upgrades just as suitable for solving this issue?
kneecaps2000 OEM M3 bushes are fine for street driving, but the aftermarket options are equally as good and possibly better. Whatever you do, don’t get the inserts because they don’t eliminate all the subframe movement.
@@matthewspringer3305 Would something like this from ECS be suitable? www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/e8x-e9x-e82-e90-e92-complete-polyurethane-performance-differential-bushing-set/026709ecs09~akt/
What city/area/road is that? That looks like an INCREDIBLY beautiful area!
San Diego, California
Why were you shaking the steering wheel during corners? Also, why did you speed up the footage around those corners and add horrendous air sounds and a blow off valve sound?
I think I did very well for the first video ever made..
What about how much torque it can handle on the auto and any upgrades to make it stronger
The car has a Burger Motorsports transmission cooler and the XHP Stage 3 tune
BMW 135i N54 Pure Turbos Pure600 Build ruclips.net/video/XZCbQeuW7Vc/видео.html
Might be a long shot but do you happen to have a parts list on this car??
I just put everything in the video description 👍🏾
Did you put a mic under the hood? That induction house is ludicrous! Mine sounds good, but not like that!
Yes, it was an experimental filming technique :-)
I never seen a non m sport 135i? My M Sport suspension with Dinan springs is hard but handles like its on rails! I have a black on black 09 with 43,600 original miles. I run the AFE intake, VRSF Catless down pipes, 5 inch Agency intercooler & aluminum J pipe, VRSF charge pipe with twin Turbosmart blow off valves with 60mm trumpets, Precision race works coils. I run a custom tune from Wedge/MHD. I run a Radium oil catch can. Steet polished stainless hand made vacuum canisters. I run a Vargas Turbo Technologies crank case breather & my car screams. I just put Anthracite ARC-8's on with oem BMW floating center caps & Apex 90mm studs. Next year im running 6 individual nozzles from pro meth & i should be around 525-535H.P. to the wheels.....👍🏻💯🏁
All N54 (2008-2010) 135s have the same suspension. The M Sport trim is really cosmetic, nicer steering wheel and door sills. Your upgrades are solid, very similar to my old car. Are you going to upgrade your turbos?
@@TheSpeedAddiction Don't forget about the M Sport seats the huge side bolters & the pull out leg extensions. But maybe my car is a screamer & I've had 700 h.p. blown mustangs. This car is fast. We'll see what the future holds. But im going to pro meth 6 injector the plenum & see where im at. Hows your car doing brother...?👍🏻🏁
@@TheSpeedAddiction I'll be making a video within the next few months...👍🏻
I sold my 135i. I now have a M240i. I do miss the rawness of the E82 but I’m very impressed with my new car
@@TheSpeedAddiction I wouldn't get rid of my 09 135i for anything! Just to perfect & it screws!!!...👍🏻🏁
Oh my that turbo spool... 🥴🥴🥴
Wait until you hear it spool with Pure Turbos 😁
i love auto m sport car
Me too!
Have you have any serious reliability problems with the N54?
Yes, I have experienced all of the typical failures; HPFP, leaky injectors, spun rod bearings, valve cover gasket failure, etc, etc..
An English man found his way into California. I have only one question, what were you thinking man?!
😂 California is like England but with better weather, Mexican food and no speed cameras..
So you ride the Koni yellow with wich springs?
Swift Spec R
@@TheSpeedAddiction Do you like it?? i have cheap canada made Coilovers, and maybe i,ll swap them for this setup
The car handles great but I find the Swifts a little stiff to be honest..
If I had the budget, I'd go for the KW v2 or v3.
Where you from in london mate?
Chingford
@@TheSpeedAddiction sweet mate look forward to next videos
Me too so your well adverse with the A10 lot
Is it reliable?
The N54 has some common external component failures such as the high pressure fuel pump, injectors, turbo wastegates and water pump. Once these issues are fixed, it’s reliable. I recommend the N55 (2011-2013) powered cars for reliability, they’re much more reliable but don’t make as much power as the N54 when tuned
Mic please
There’s more 135i content coming soon..
Was this car sold?
Yes. I own a M240i now.
I might have purchased it 👍🏻☺️
Enjoy
Its not as fun with an automatic u need that manual transmission
Going faster is more fun.dct is the way.Coming from someone who used to have an automatic 1 series and now have a manual 1.
I'm having plenty of fun in my auto but yes, a manual would be more interactive.
Just checked for an insurance quote £35k
Haha. Where do you live?
That’s not an American accent
You damn right! 😁
