Whoa what a great game! Really enjoyed it. At first was rooting for Esher because of their earlier losses but changed to Goliath when they started losing. I'm pretty sure Esher started off so strong because they were gathered up and able to focus fire on one or two Goliath at a time because they were spread out. But the tables turned. What a good game lol
Really enjoyed this. The Escher were on fire early on with some great rolls. Always the way when you’re facing Goliath though, gotta get those objectives else you’re gonna flee before them. Just played Parley Showdown from Cinderak Burning and can highly recommend for a fun and quite narrative version of a Gang Fight. Starting with four fighters with no ranged weapons is tactical chess and then reinforcements with their guns adds another element to think about.
Really seemed like a one sided game in favour of the Escher girls. But if there’s one thing that Goliaths do best it’s sticking around even when the odds are against them. Great game 👍🏻
The goliaths are close combat monsters, when one of their big guys connect with an enemy model they deal ludicrous amounts of overkill. But then they got to get there first. This game has a lot more open spaces and a big "town square" in the center.
Escher gangs are gnarly when they don't overfous on their poison gimmick. Getting people with poison takes a few more steps than simply pointing a plasma gun or a cheap lasgun at them.
@@MrDracoSpirit I can't remember if you could get hellguns at the settlements in older Necromunda. I'm sure people who wanted to could just grab any 2nd ed weapon and drop it in. They could find boltguns so why not. Just decide what rarity and credit cost a hellgun has. Even a basic lasgun has armour pen 1 and can knock people out. Their ammo roll means they'll keep firing through most skirmishes. The gangs in old Necromunda had much less distinct gimmicks, and I'm not entirely sure what "builds" people use in the new game. Everyone just started from identical positions in the basic game. But when I got to try, the lasgun or autogun was still the good ol' basic standby. Apparently cheaper lasguns was an Escher thing, and Orlocks have cheaper flak and autoguns or something.
@@SusCalvin Nearly every gang should start with 5 guys/girls with autoguns/lasguns tbh... but with the House of books they've really tried to give everyone a bias in there wargear to give the different the gangs more identity. Escher gangs tend to be full of lasguns and poisons, but they have decent access to plasma, flamers and chain weapons too.
@@MrDracoSpirit Old Necromunda got more wild with Outlanders. New Necromunda hasn't introduced something like the extremely front-loaded Spyrers yet. The Arbites gang just bypassed the entire economy system and strutted around in carapace. Those two really allowed you to break previous core principles of Necromunda.
Wow, 11 turns! Hahaha, not messing around at all. Phew, close tun thing at the end. All those failed cool tests just stomped them at the end. Obviously need to remember their sunglasses next time. Great bat Rep as always!
Unfortunate that esher made so many misplays like the plasma gun not supposed to reload unless you can get rid of the scarce trait and the obvious spy device but still fun to see two models holding on against basicly the entire team. Lol
Really fun battlerep! That scenario looks really really tough. Moving all the way across the battlefield to plant a spy device on EACH corner and the center? In the middle of a firefight? XD
@mkozinski Still cant reload with munitioneer - you can reroll your ammo test on a fail if in the 6" bubble, but of you fail the second roll also a scarce weapon is still out of ammo for the game. You would need something like a ganger with the Van Saar Tech Skill "Weaponsmith" to remove Scarce from the plasma gun. Alternatively if playing a campaign with alliances, an alliance with the Promethium Guild lets you remove scarce on plasma weapons and blaze weapons. I dont think theres any other way of getting around it.
Fantastic game! I was rooting for that Goliath grenade launcher to reload and fire a shot in anger... Instead it turned out to be a great narrative twist, with the Escher bailing out as soon as they saw the GL get back into business!
Great BR as always, just little question, did they changed phelynx credits price? (last time i checked they costed 50 each) or is a house rule to have pets cheaper?
Another great BR but there is a question that bugs me .... Why do you roll a separate roll for your knockback? I thought it was if the hit roll exceeded the targets strength it was automatically knocked back?
Great report as always, nice to see the girls doing well... in the first half, anyway! How horribly did that turn around at the end? Question: do you have any video tutorial up on how paint do your tiles and walls? I love the simple but effective astetic.

Escher have a bit of a weakspot when it comes to bottle rolls, which is one of the reasons why I always aim to be able to run ten girls every game, through it seems you guys run a low cred style of game that test budgets!
It's funny, but in history particularly during the time of musket and shot, there are many accounts of battles where one side won simply because they stuck around. It's fully possible to take devestating losses, be surrounded, cut off, etc etc, but as long as everyone keeps their cool and keeps fighting, the other guy can lose despite massive advantages. That said, Goliath got bloody lucky with all those cool checks. I know they have a much better cool than other gangs, but you always assume there will be a few outliers when rolling. That chain bottle at the end was a sad moment for Escher, especially when that ganger was so close to the objective. That was a nasty loss, especially for such a high level of commitment.
I don't think you are able to reload plasma guns
Edit: well you can if you have the munitioner skill
That's a great call! It's scarce! We totally skipped over that. Going to pin this one so folks know!

@@grantmills2557 Unfortunatly plasmas are near only tools that really work for to counter other gangs.
But the the scarse is harsh rule
Not even with munitioneer, you just get to roll out your ammo test twice if its in the 6" bubble, but once its out, its out.
