      @@danerik.westerlind can’t wait ! Btw I just added a 14x32 Zen DC to my collection as I found a great deal. It’s not the stiffest but it’s so good for carrying 3 to 4 kids for fun. May turn it into a fishing rig as it’s massive.

    Hope you enjoyed your first paddle on your new board. Looks a good glide with the 14'. Are the handles paddled? Did your bag have wheels, I couldn't see any? I may buy a new Starboard Touring board next year. Went paddling on Sunday morning down on Bristol Harbour. They didn't have any touring boards, as they were all being used for a day tour in Bath, so we all had to use All-round Red Paddle 10'6". It was a bit windy and it wouldn't paddle in a straight line 🙂

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      Yes it was good and even better if you look on todays adventure video, flooded river. It’s good glide. Center handle is padded and bag have wheels. I have just recorded the review of this board, shall edit and plan is that it will come around in the third Saturday from now. Will also do comparison between boards this autumn.
      Oh, you didn’t bring your own board?
      Was so long since I paddle a red 10’6, but I guess it won’t be any fun.

      @@danerik.westerlind I'll forward to your review of your new board soon. I walk 1.5 hours down to the Harbour, so don't fancy carrying my own board down on my back, so easier to use one of the SUP School touring boards. The last time, I used a 10'6 was playing a game of SUP Ball a year ago. Think of it as Water Polo but everyone standing on paddleboards. Great fun and very wet 🙂

      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      @@marksmall8692 wow, really good walk and I understand that a backpack with the board will be not so fun walk.
      I mostly look forward to do comparison test with Allstar and my other board.
      Just a little spoiler alert it will come two more unboxing. Sup ball sound fun!
      Sometimes I been thinking of buying a 10´6 when we get newbie visit.

    Thank you for the Link Dan-Erik. Appreciate it. Do you feel the board is stiff enough to be efficient. I weigh abought 165 lbs. ?

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      When I convert that to kg it seems to be 75kg, I'm 74kg, I don't feel any flex when I paddle, only board I do that on is on Tikhine (4,75" thick).

    • @Artiscrafty
      @Artiscrafty Год назад +1

      Dan. Do you think the 14 is to long VS the 12.6. I’m trying to decide which will be the faster more fun board

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      @@Artiscrafty I only do flat water paddling and Sweden have a lot of slow moving rivers and calm lakes. So in Sweden 14 foot is most popular. 14 goes faster and I like that. I'm been thinking of testing this 17,5 foot long boards. If you do touring like us, or down winding, I choose 14. If you are going to do more stuff like surf with a lot of turns, go for a 12´6. If your friends have 14 foot you will regret that you have a 12´6 when you do touring. That's my experience but for you it can be something different so I always say, try before you buy.

    Hi
    Congrats on buying a really cool board
    14ft is a category of racing boards, I myself recently tried a 14ft board at a rental station, it is much faster than a 12.6

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      Thanks! In Sweden a lot just have 14ft for touring, don't need to race. It's fun that it goes faster.🤗

  • @Artiscrafty

    Also is the deck material you stand on comfortable on bare feet? The reason I ask is I have an older starboard Astro blend and the waffle type pattern foam is not comfortable to stand on

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      Hmm, deck pad is comfortable for me but for you it might be different. Deck pad it's what I call diamond pattern, crocodile pattern is better but have less grip. Touring and Allstar have the same diamond sort of deck pad, Tikhine have crocodile.

    Thank you for video. Im thinking about buying this sup. I cant decide - shold i go for shorter versions 11/12 ' or its better to go for 14' if for me is very important speed? I need fastest touring board and cant decide is longer board us faster then shorter? Thank you

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад +1

      Thanks!🤗If you have same serie, like starboard touring isup, a longer will always be faster until you get to narrow so you get unstable. So if you are stable on a 12´6x30 and 14x30, 14 will be faster. For me almost average on 14 is my top speed o 12´6. So if speed is the thing for you, chose 14.

      @@danerik.westerlindThank you. I live in Estonia and it's hard to find this boards in local market. I will need to order online from EU. I will do further research and around beginning of next month if I will find it - I will place an order.
      Right now I have F4 320 cm long touring board witch is quite slow for me. I do fast paddling and few days touring on SUP, so I need speed, as I like to paddle fast. But, I kinda doubt about 14' length.. will it be much less manoeuvreble, then 12' board. Right now we have in stock 12’6” x 30” Touring M and 11’6” x 29” Touring Zen Roll board. I wonder witch one is faster? 12’6” x 30” or 11’6 x 29. Is less width makes board faster? Or longer 12’6, but wider will be still faster?

    • @danerik.westerlind
      @danerik.westerlind  Год назад

      @@andreisevela1496 Best is to try boards before buying. It´s not so easy to know which board that will be fastest. You can look at tail and nose, board shape, to understand how it will preform. Maybe if you look at my two videos, wall vs all star and wall vs touring, you might understand what I talking about, how to know how a board preform but best is to try before you buy.

      Have so many boards to test, that are coming on this channel so I have not have the time to compare Tikhine with this 14x28. I will do a test between them, but it will be in October or November.🤗
