Superb documentary. One of the best ( 6 parts included ). No superfluous narratives which only obfuscate the enjoyment and understanding of Pompeii itself. This respectful silence enhances the mystery and dreaming-like quality of the city, tragically destroyed that Aug. 24, 79 of our era. The brief written narratives welcome. They are more than sufficient. Also the absence of people is ideal. Their presence is an abomination and a profanation to the city. … p.s.- Mihi Priapis statua mentula rigida maxime placuit.

Did you see my new 2020 Pompeii walk? It is 5 hours long and covers the entire area...mostly. I also went back to Pompeii last month and filmed a new walk of it all empty. When I walk into the Forum, I'm the only one there.

My desire to walk these streets myself almost overwhelms me but it’s not likely I will ever get the chance, and so for an unnarrated stroll thru the ruins I can almost smell the dust and imagine myself there before the eruption. Thank you for this video.

I don't know if a get a vibe necessarily but your mind does wander about what it must have been like.... Buying bread from a bakery, going the the bath house, etc.

I do like your style but I would have liked to see all of the rooms in the buildings you entered to really see how they lived. Was there a kitchen in the small fountain house? Or a "bar" at the pub?
A full day is all you need but it would be helpful to have a map and planned route because it is really easy to miss an important house or street and just wander aimlessly. I can post up a map and link to it in the description if that would be helpful.
A lot of it went to Museums but I think a lot were taken early on. I'll do a walking tour of the museum in Naples...if I can...so you can see what they have there.

It really pisses me off that excavators (were they archaeologists?) back then were just hunting for specific things and reburying the damn place, and not even putting material back where they got it from. So disrespectful.
Well, back in the day, they were basically just treasure hunters...but, what can you do? There is still more to excavate and they are doing a much better job now.
It is enough here to mention the verse in Surat Yaseen, which perfectly describes the type of Punishment Allah (Subhanaho W Ta’ala) afflicted upon people of Pompeii, and no human during the era of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) could imagine: “And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] [making them stones] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.” - Surat Yasin, verse 67 The removal of Pompeii from the face of the earth by such a disaster was not purposeless. The historical records show that the city was exactly a center of dissipation and perversity. The city was marked by a rise in prostitution to such an extent that eventually the number of brothels was not known. Male organs in their original sizes were hung on the doors of brothels. According to tradition, rooted in Mithraic belief, sexual organs and sexual intercourse should not be hidden but displayed openly. (Archeologists first excavated the city during Victorian times, shocked by the open sexual perversity of the people, a secret museum was formed to house some of the artifacts found. These included many falic symbols, images of homosexuality and even bestiality This aspect of the event shows that the disappearance of Pompeii was similar to the destructive events mentioned in the Qur'an, because the Qur'an particularly points to "sudden annihilation" while relating these events. For example, the "inhabitants of the city" described in Surah Yasin died all at once in a single moment. The situation is told as follows in the 29th verse of the Surah: "It was no more then a single mighty blast, and behold! They were (like ashes) quenched and silent." In the 31st verse of Surah al-Qamar, again the "instantaneous annihilation" is emphasized when the destruction of Thamud is recounted: "For we sent against them a single mighty blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle." The death of the people of Pompeii took place instantaneously, just as the events recounted in the above verses. Lut (Arabic: لوط, ) known as Lot in the Old Testament, is a prophet of God in the Quran. ... He was sent to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as a prophet, and was commanded to preach to their inhabitants on monotheism and the sinfulness of their lustful and violent acts. The Quran states that Lot was a nephew of Abraham who had been sent to the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as a prophet after migrating to Canaan, but he was rejected by the cities' inhabitants. One day, a group of angels visited Abraham as guests in order to inform him of the fact that his wife Sarah was pregnant with Isaac. While there, they also told him that they had been sent by God to the "guilty people"of Lot to destroy them with "a shower of stones of clay".Lot and those who believed in him, were to be spared, but his wife was to die in the destruction, with the angels stating that "she is of those who lag behind".The Quran also draws upon Lot's wife as an "example for the unbelievers" as she was married to a righteous man but refused to believe in his message and was thus condemned to Hell. The people of the twin cities transgressed against the bounds of God. According to the Quran, their sins included inhospitality and robbery ,they hated strangers and robbed travellers, apart from other mistreatments and rape. It was their sin of sexual misconduct as well which was seen as particularly egregious, with Lot strongly chiding them for approaching men with sexual desire instead of women.Lot exhorted them to abandon their sinful ways, but they ridiculed him,and threatened to evict him from the cities.by saying that this man wants to be 'Pure' . Lot prayed to God and begged to be saved from the consequences of their sinful acts. Then two angels, disguised as handsome males, came to Lot. He became distressed due to his powerlessness to protect the visitors from the people of the cities.The cities' residents demanded that Lot surrender his guests to them.He pointed to his daughters for his guests, but unlike the Judeo-christian beliefs, Lut offered them for lawful marriage after conversion to Islamic monotheism, as pious and pure alternatives to their unlawful wishes, and perhaps a source of guidance,but they were unrelenting and replied "we have no need of your daughters: indeed you know quite well what we want!" The Quran remarks "they moved blindly intoxicated in the frenzy of approaching death". The angels then revealed their true identities to Lot, and told him that they had been sent by God to "bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-doers".They advised Lot to leave the place during the night and not look back, informing him that his wife would be left behind on account of her sinful nature. Keeping his faith in God, Lot left the cities during the night with his believing family members and others who believed in him. When morning came, God turned the cities upside down, and rained down on them stones hard as baked clay,putting an end to the lives of the people of .(POMPEII)

Priapism is a medical term for prolonged, abnormal, and painful penile erection. Apparently the word is derived from the god, Priapus.

"It was no more then a single mighty blast, and behold! They were (like ashes) quenched and silent."
In the 31st verse of Surah al-Qamar, again the "instantaneous annihilation" is emphasized when the destruction of Thamud is recounted:
"For we sent against them a single mighty blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle."
The death of the people of Pompeii took place instantaneously, just as the events recounted in the above verses.
Lut (Arabic: لوط, ) known as Lot in the Old Testament, is a prophet of God in the Quran. ... He was sent to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as a prophet, and was commanded to preach to their inhabitants on monotheism and the sinfulness of their lustful and violent acts.
The Quran states that Lot was a nephew of Abraham who had been sent to the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah as a prophet after migrating to Canaan, but he was rejected by the cities' inhabitants. One day, a group of angels visited Abraham as guests in order to inform him of the fact that his wife Sarah was pregnant with Isaac. While there, they also told him that they had been sent by God to the "guilty people"of Lot to destroy them with "a shower of stones of clay".Lot and those who believed in him, were to be spared, but his wife was to die in the destruction, with the angels stating that "she is of those who lag behind".The Quran also draws upon Lot's wife as an "example for the unbelievers" as she was married to a righteous man but refused to believe in his message and was thus condemned to Hell.
The people of the twin cities transgressed against the bounds of God. According to the Quran, their sins included inhospitality and robbery ,they hated strangers and robbed travellers, apart from other mistreatments and rape. It was their sin of sexual misconduct as well which was seen as particularly egregious, with Lot strongly chiding them for approaching men with sexual desire instead of women.Lot exhorted them to abandon their sinful ways, but they ridiculed him,and threatened to evict him from the cities.by saying that this man wants to be 'Pure' . Lot prayed to God and begged to be saved from the consequences of their sinful acts.
Then two angels, disguised as handsome males, came to Lot. He became distressed due to his powerlessness to protect the visitors from the people of the cities.The cities' residents demanded that Lot surrender his guests to them.He pointed to his daughters for his guests, but unlike the Judeo-christian beliefs, Lut offered them for lawful marriage after conversion to Islamic monotheism, as pious and pure alternatives to their unlawful wishes, and perhaps a source of guidance,but they were unrelenting and replied "we have no need of your daughters: indeed you know quite well what we want!" The Quran remarks "they moved blindly intoxicated in the frenzy of approaching death".
The angels then revealed their true identities to Lot, and told him that they had been sent by God to "bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-doers".They advised Lot to leave the place during the night and not look back, informing him that his wife would be left behind on account of her sinful nature. Keeping his faith in God, Lot left the cities during the night with his believing family members and others who believed in him. When morning came, God turned the cities upside down, and rained down on them stones hard as baked clay,putting an end to the lives of the people of .(POMPEII)
