    Hello, from Idaho panhandle, we sail our tandem island in steep sided lakes with fickle wind and waves, it is beautiful here but nothing to the scale that you are doing. Balls indeed!

      Hello! I had to check, and googled the Idaho panhandle. It looks like paradise, especially for Hobie-guys like us. Glad to hear from fellow TI-captains!

    Norway one of the most awesome places in the world, add a TI to it and it becomes magical. If it were warmer it would be overcrowded there like Florida.

    Stunning video. If you wouldn't mind sharing some of brands clothes you are wearing that would be great. Cheers from middle of Canada!

      I have a two-piece drysuit from Kokatat. But, in the winter I use a 7mm neopren freediving suit. I might get a one-pice drysuit one day, since the neopren suit isn't comfortable. But I trust it. For shoes I have some standard neopren shoes. I get wet on my feet, but it's not a big deal. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

    Great video! Did you find a dealer for the Hobie in Norway or did you import it?

      TY!
      After searching for dealers, I found two dealers in Norway, and by insane luck, one of them was close to my home. And I ordered my boat from them. www.69nord.com
      I'm going to visit my dealer right now, to get some extra rudder pins. I have none left :) Must keep sailing!

    What is the typical water temperature?

    • @arctictandemisland7270
      @arctictandemisland7270  3 года назад +4

      In our shourt summer, the average temp. is 9.9 C, (49.8 F). In the winter it's 4.8 C (40.6 F).
      So, in order to enjoy the nature without always thinking "it's too cold", I started ice bathing all year. It helps, and totally changed my perspective of the cold, being cold, etc. And I won't get the cold shock, if I fall off the boat. I won't panic, swallow water and drown, immediately. Although, staying in the water for a long period is still dangerous, of course.

      That is so cool! I live in the US in State of Utah. It is a gorgeous desert state that has mountain lakes to sail. Sailing in Norway is a must do item for me. Sailing on Hobie tandem island is even cooler!

    I would think that you'd carry at least two spare rudder pins all the time.

    • @arctictandemisland7270
      @arctictandemisland7270  3 года назад

      I only had one spare rudder pin. So when that one broke, it was time to head to shore. The weather got worse. Of course did I brake my last one a few days later on another trip while beaching, so now I don't have any. My Hobie dealer have problems getting my ordered parts (rudder pins, etc.), so I might try to fix my broken pins with glue...Tom, have you heard of any fixing the rudder pins after they brake?
