In fact "U boj, u boj" by Nikola Šubić Zrinski is/was an anthem of the Kwansei Gakuin university. They picked it up orally from Austro-hungarian sailors (Czechs and Croats) who were stationed there during the period of WWI.. P.S. or maybe other conflict I'm not sure ..

Well done Japan, as an Asian, I have always been a staunch supporter of the Japanese team. Although they didn't make it to the top 8 this time, I saw their efforts. The victory over Germany 🇩🇪 Spain 🇪🇸, two former world champions, was great, Japan is the light of football in East Asia!
It's safe to say all Croats loved the Japan team and hated that we had to play you guys. Even as a Croat, I would have been fine with getting knocked out by such a team because you played fair, you played tough and you played with so much heart! Most Croats are aware of Japan's history, how important honor is to you and how much dignity you have as a people and your team truly embodied those same qualities. A good match, a quality opponent, we played badly, but we still have character and love for our team, the people and the whole world. We, little Croatia, are again in the quarter-finals of the world championship. We are playing against Brazil and we will probably lose because they are a much stronger team. We are irrational and we will pray to God with all our hearts to beat Brazil even though it is "impossible". If Luka Modrić plays one of his best matches and if we beat Brazil, the atmosphere in Croatia will be the same as in 2018 when we won the silver. Joško Guardiol is our trump card bigger than Modrić in this championship.

i mean the pen shootout gave you all the answers you need to know, they have heart, spirit, and a desire to win the game, that plus a good manager that knows what he wants. their only drawback was lack of experience in a big tourney like this and easily fell to the pressure, the same pressure we croats have gotten used to which is why we won.
It's the 2018 runner up ofc they do have more exp than you, especially on penality shootouts, Croatia is one of the two teams to have a 100% record from penalty shootouts - 3 out of 3 in wc's Japan on the other hand has only played one game that ended in a penalty shootout before this in the 2010 wc and they lost, so i kinda knew that when all came down to penalties it was gg for japan, hopefully its a leason learned and you guys become prolific penalty shoothers after this, cheer up!

Croatian fans never disrespect their opponent, unless Croatia gets disrespected first. A good example of that would be the match vs Canada, prior to which the Canadian coach and especially their goalkeeper said some insulting stuff that pissed off a lot of people.
Croatia is the best team and they deserved to go through the quarterfinals. Japanese worked hard for it but they won by hearts, thanks to their fans who clean up after the match. 😀
If I have to write a story about this tournament, the main character would be Japan for sure. Desire to win, discipline on and off the pitch, amazing crowd that showed us their culture, taught us about proper behaviour, etc... Regardless of the loss, I’m incredibly proud of what Japan has achieved. I walk away knowing that it was a miracle to even make it out of our group. But we did it and beat Spain and Germany. 🇯🇵🇯🇵 it’s all fine with me.

Livaja one goal, Oršić one goal for the bronze + assist againts Canada, Petković one goal vs Brasil. And Livaković a probably the best goalkeeper in Katar.
As a Canadian, I'm sad that Japan lost, but hell... that was a good match. They beat two of the biggest European teams from the beginning. They should be grateful for what they did. They'll go home and write history about it... or make an anime adaptation of it. This one will never forget.

Don't really follow football but I was drawn in the stories that Japan and South Korea had throughout their runs in the tournament. Wasn't meant to be, but still admire the effort and heart of these teams and look forward to what these sides can do come next World Cup, wishing all the best leading up to it. Idk but we are still by far the smallest country that has place in quarterfinals now. Japan always lost round 16. I felt huge difference between Croatia and Japan not just about score. Culture? Experience? History? Don't know, but Japan needs some changes seriously.

i mean the pen shootout gave you all the answers you need to know, they have heart, spirit, and a desire to win the game, that plus a good manager that knows what he wants. their only drawback was lack of experience in a big tourney like this and easily fell to the pressure, the same pressure we croats have gotten used to which is why we won.
It's the 2018 runner up ofc they do have more exp than you, especially on penality shootouts, Croatia is one of the two teams to have a 100% record from penalty shootouts - 3 out of 3 in wc's
Japan on the other hand has only played one game that ended in a penalty shootout before this in the 2010 wc and they lost, so i kinda knew that when all came down to penalties it was gg for japan, hopefully its a leason learned and you guys become prolific penalty shoothers after this, cheer up!

Croatian fans never disrespect their opponent, unless Croatia gets disrespected first. A good example of that would be the match vs Canada, prior to which the Canadian coach and especially their goalkeeper said some insulting stuff that pissed off a lot of people.
Croatia is the best team and they deserved to go through the quarterfinals. Japanese worked hard for it but they won by hearts, thanks to their fans who clean up after the match. 😀

Regardless of the loss, I’m incredibly proud of what Japan has achieved. I walk away knowing that it was a miracle to even make it out of our group. But we did it and beat Spain and Germany. 🇯🇵🇯🇵 it’s all fine with me.

As a Canadian, I'm sad that Japan lost, but hell... that was a good match. They beat two of the biggest European teams from the beginning. They should be grateful for what they did. They'll go home and write history about it... or make an anime adaptation of it.

I was hoping for Japan and Australia to go to the 1/4 finals but at least they went down swinging and gave us exciting nail biting matches. What a world cup.

Don't really follow football but I was drawn in the stories that Japan and South Korea had throughout their runs in the tournament. I am from Croatia and Japan is my second favourite team, after Croatia of course. Sad to see Japan getting out in round of 16 again. Respect for Japan, but I dont think from what I saw through all pages and social media that Croatia got deserved respect because maybe people expected us to play much better, we have great result from last WC too. Idk but we are still by far the smallest country that has place in quarterfinals now. People here are proud, they want win against Brazil but are still humble because everybody knows that Brazil is such good team, possibly from what we have seen first candidate for taking this WC to be real.
