Zane, I have been watching your channel since your first visit to Thailand. First Thank you for coming to the country. I can see that you are a very friendly and easy person. The cost of living here is cheap and the facility is wonderful. For any nomad, you need to find an online business or job in your country. Then Thailand will be heaven for you.

So Im watching your videos back to back. I love ur eyes and I love how soft spoken u are. Im planning to travel this june, I have never been outside of India. As a female travelling solo is scary but ur videos give me confidence. Im going only for the shopping. I loved all the food u ate at terminal 21. Every time u buy something i pause and immediately go go converting from Bhat to Rupees. Do come to Mumbai someday, if u do message me and u will be my guest.

Singha beer in brown bottle was introduced/produced into Thailand about 100 years ago using German recipe by King Rama VI court official Pirompakdi family ancestor. It was highly appreciated by both Thai and expat drinkers. Even though other local brand was introduced one or another but could not shake Singha's dominance and died away until Thai Beverages, the largest and most dominant liquor producer (mostly rum and white spirit) in Thailand, decided to partner with Carlberg to produce the brand locally to compete with Singha. It also resulted in a failure to challenge Singha. Both sides gradually drifted apart and Carlberg was eventually no longer produced locally. Before the final breakup, Thai Beverages introduced Chang (Elephant) beer in green bottle, which was much cheaper to gain market share from Singha. It was successful in a few years after heavy promotion and discounted price, and became No.1 seller. This was the reason that Carlberg decided to quit the Thai market as it seemed its Thai partner did not care to promote Carlberg anymore after Chang beer was successfully introduced. Singha did not give in and introduced Leo in brown bottle at the same price of Chang and it instantly became a success as well. Now, Chang and Leo are neck and neck, dominating local Thai beer market. Owners of Chang/rum/white spirit and Singha/Leo are Thai billionaires.
Note: Alcohol sale is banned on religious holidays and evening prior to general election day and election day itself. On regular day, alcohol sale is available from 11.00-14.00 and 17.00-24.00 at 7-11 and mini/super stores, Lotus or Big C. However, this is Thailand and you can always buy your favorite beer/liquor at your small convenient store in your village at all hours (if the store opens). Some shops stay open until 2 am on Friday and Saturday in some villages. Don't know why the police ignore those small shops selling alcohol at all hours.

What an interesting journey you're on! Looking forward to your future videos.
BTW, I noticed how extremely loud it is in the places you've shown us so far. Wow. Can't be good for anybody. I hope they will one day get to the place where they can afford to use quieter vehicles, machinery (not shown in your videos), and improve the locals' quality of life.

Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom for at least 700 years. Some time the city was independent, but most of the time the City was a vassal state of various Burmese dynasties even right through the reign of King Rama I. When the British began to subjugate Burma and eventually abolished the Burmese King, exiling him to British India during King Rama IV reign, Chiang Mai was independent again but within a few decades, Chiang Mai King saw that Siam was beginning to exert influence to the North, the King decided to submit and even sent his daughter to become King Rama V's concubine. When Chiang Mai king died, King Rama V decided not to appoint a new king but put Chiang Mai directly under Bangkok's rule, sending a governor to govern Chiang Mai since then. Chiang Mai has it all, old town with several important temples, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep on 13 km up hill within 20 km from the city center and at the foot of Doi Suthep, there is Chiang Mai University, one of the four regional public universities in Thailand. The others are Khon Kaen in the Northeast, Burapha in the East (Chonburi) and Songkhla in the South. All four regional universities have all traditional faculties including Medicine and Engineering. There is an going project to propose Chiang Mai's old town as Unesco World Heritage within this decade.
Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and practically all temples in the North and in Laos as well have two Nagas (mythical serpent-like beast living underworld) guarding the steps leading into the temple. It is believed that Naga King is the underworld ruler and is a devout Buddhist disciple. Thus, sometimes you can see an image of Buddha meditating under the tree with Naga King guarding behind with his 7 heads above Buddha's head to protect him from wind/rain. There are also standalone Naga statute along Meking River on both sides of Thailand and Laos, the most famous of which is at Nakhon Phanom with 7 heads. It might be noted that one of the largest royal barge of Thai King has 7-heads Naga as its head. The mortal enemy of Naga is Garuda (a mythical flying beast) which is supposed to be God Rama's mount. Indonesia and Thailand deem Garuda as high class mythical beast and Indonesia's National Carrier is "Garuda". Garuda is also the official symbol of Thai King, thus official document would have Garuda symbol at its head. When there is an official royal announcement from the King or Palace, the initial TV screen features Garuda for a minute before the royal text appears together with reading sound.

hey Love, thank you for sharing. I'd like to go too since I've never been. I remember from your last video you ate cold fried chicken. You should have taken it back and told them it was cold and exchanged it for.a warm one. The clerk must have forgotten to heat it up. If there is food that isn't good you can always ask to exchange. They'll change and make it good for you like they should and since its open concept type. of kitchen, you can see everything they do to the food. Just stand there, have them correct the food and give it back to you. Should be done within 2 mins.

You ought to make up your mind. Almost every food in Thailand is spicy. You might not be able to stand it at first, but if you try it often, you'll get used to it. In fact, the spiciness makes Thai food so delicious then get used to it. Hope you enjoyed everything in Thailand.
