In our town we have been building a construction site using RCs for over a year now. The town councel allowed the use of 3 lots that was cleared. At least 10 dump truck loads of soil were brought in. The only rule is everything must be moved by RCs. One guy even built a tunnel boring RC. A lake is being dug out.
People come out in the evenings drinking coffee or cider and watch for hours as all ages play. This has really brought our community back together.

I used to feed a ball mill 3000 tonne a day on a gold mine operating a Cat 966 and 980 FEL, build roads etc and this Rc gear is second to none good work!
Hell yeah! The 980G is one of CAT's best machines ever. They just run and run.
I think it's human nature to want to build things, this is so relaxing, seeing someone else do all the work!

quad dump truck driver for 19 years now i can tell you trackhoes rock and lift no matter what size just like this rc . bucket size and density of material all factors in.

This is awesome…except for leaving out the one very realistic portion that makes it all spring to life…..while the 5 new guys are driving trucks and doing work, there needs to be 30 guys with a shovel in one hand lined up along the side of the street doing nothing but talking or eating lunch. ;-)

As an excavator by trade these videos are so fun... & so frustrating to watch.
I feel like yelling at the junior operators like I do at work. Don't dig scallops! Try to cut the ground so that the bottom of the cut is flat! ( you 'open' the bucket slightly as you move it through the cut ). Don't try to push too much material! :D Great fun, great videos.

I worked for an Insurance Brokerage before and the IT guys in the basement had a mountain of old PCs and an RC crawler and literally played with it all day. Sometimes when it was slow I would go down and hang out with them.
