Don't buy a gaming router, they're all overpriced gimmicks so you can have RGB on your router. Buy a regular Asus for 150 dollars and you won't notice much of a difference if you're not on anything above gigabit speed internet.

Wifi 5/AC is good enough for most applications where I didn't feel like properly running a cable. Because it meets my needs I probably won't upgrade my AP till 8 is a thing and 7 is dirt cheap (unless it dies first)
This just centralizes your internet in one area. If you have a home with the modem/router on one side of the house, the other end of the house will struggle with WiFi strength having to reach the other end. Save your money and buy a Mesh system like EERO. 😎
Most houses are actually nowhere near large enough to need a mesh system, but that being said if your buying a router this expensive your house is probably big enough 😂
You're better off having a good router without WiFi that is has all the features you need and getting a pretty cheap WiFi access point connected with a cable to where your devices are, you can even get multiple access points so get better coverage with the same speed. You can go with WiFi 5 and connect the devices that need higher speed like your PC with ethernet.
Yeah, I'm not convinced on getting a "gaming" router. My Ubiquiti hardware works very well and I don't see how this router could be any faster except for maybe prioritizing gaming out-of-the-box with QoS.
Guys, dont forget thr router isnt the thing giving you the set wifi speed... Its your providerz so if you only have a plan with 200 or 100 mbit you will also only get max speeds of 200 or 100 mbits
