    While it's true that every player will have struggles I don't think this is just with Bo. I think a couple of our players are feeling the same way. They really don't like upper mamanegement and are done working with them.
    And I think the fans can agree, I don't think we can stand another season with the Shapiro and Atkins combo. If anything they should be the ones leaving.

    Lisa's husband, Andy here. I'm English but I follow the fortunes of the Jays having visited Canada about 20 odd years ago. Just like my beloved soccer team in England, if a player doesn't want to be at a club then they should go. No player is bigger than the club. He's stealing a wage this year. Tell him to p**s off and get players in that are hungry to play for the Jays (probably for lesser wages). He is supposed to be a leader, when Delgado, Wells, Bautista etc played , even though the Jays weren't always the best they led by example. He doesn't, he is average at best this term. That said, if I was another club I would question his attitude. The discussions about the coaches etc are a separate issue. Go jays go.

      I live in the USA, but I still feel weird hearing the phrase "soccer team in England." Perhaps I watch so much Premiere League that I've become indoctrinated to refer to the league's teams as football teams. West Ham United are my favorite.

      I have to disagree. This year Toronto entered the season with high expectations. While agree they didn’t exactly make a big splash offensively but they did sign Turner who is a proven hitter with all signs pointing to a good season. He is also a veteran who knows what it takes to win. It’s not the fault of front office Justin isn’t lighting things up.
      Toronto also entered the season with high expectations for pitching. Last year they had a very durable rotation who all had a great year. There was no reason to think this would regress. While they aren’t horrible they are not the same as last year.
      What I took from last year was they didn’t need to make a big splash, just a few tweaks. I thought the experience Turner brought would make a big impact. Then slow starts and injuries happened.
      I don’t place all blame on front office. These are professional baseball players who are paid to perform. They need to do their job. I do expect big changes by the trade deadline and hopefully in the off-season. It is time to move on from some guys, Bichette might be one of them.

    Watching Kevin Kiermaier handle business, even hitting a grand slam, after being placed on waivers is how a professional player handles himself on a team that has basically said that it doesn't want him. Watching Bo play this year is painful. It doesn't seem like a garden variety slump, but I sincerely hope it isn't an attitude thing or wanting to get traded. If nothing else, it's a dumb ass way to go about things: play so poorly that your trade value bombs. Why would the team trade him now? If he wanted to get traded, why not play as well as possible, get your trade value up, and have your pick of teams who want you? The irony is that if Bo was playing at the level everyone expected based on his past performance, he would probably be traded by now, or at least by the trade deadline because the Jays would know that they wouldn't be able to afford both him and Vladdy.

    • @stickcheck3045

      Look at the standings. If Bo Bichette were playing to his potential, could anyone honestly say that he couldn't have helped the Jays win at least 9 or 10 more games? That would put the Jays right into the thick of the playoff race! You win by WANTING to win and winning as a team starts with YOURSELF!!!

  • @chetthehoss
    @chetthehoss 2 месяца назад

    Bichette's comments were definitely infuriating for the simple reason that he's supposed to be a premier game-changing type of top echelon player, and he's massively underperforming. So when someone like that says "I wanna win.", and they play like he's been playing this whole year (save for a few weeks), they come off as being arrogant and selfish. If you want to win so bad, then how about doing something to help YOUR TEAM win, instead of striking out constantly and making unproductive at-bats. Just a thought buddy. Regarding his potential trade, given how hopelessly he's been playing this year, his trade value is next to nothing now. The Blue Jays basically have to keep him. It would make me feel good to see him have to stick it out till the end of this pathetic season with the last-place team he's on, then they make a qualifying offer, which he'll reject because his ego would force him to, and then no one would offer him a contract for next season so he'll have to come back begging to get a job. Then maybe he'll learn his lesson, and actually try to play to his potential then he can go free agent and make his money somewhere he wants to be. Sad to see him act like this.

  • @stickcheck3045
    @stickcheck3045 Месяц назад

    I honestly would trade Vlad too and get another haul of prospects. It's going to take $200mil x6 years min to get him to sign.. maybe even the long 10 year $300mil+ to get it done. The doubt Rogers will do that and then he just walks. He loses value the longer they wait.

    With Bo Bichette , Gunnar Henderson and Bobby Witt Jr. all being in the American League , Bo will never be an All-star again. That could cost him millions in a long contract and if they keep him for 1 more year , that'll be 2 years in a row not making the All-star team. I could see him moving to the National League where he might have a better chance at being a top 2 short stop if he finishes strong and follows that up with a good year.

      And if you're frustrated with how your szn's been going, you're attempting to make small adjustments (seemingly to no avail), the multiple injuries that are plaguing you, the miserable & one-sided things ppl on social media say...well you wouldn't come across super positive either. The simple fact of the matter is: The man wants to win! And they haven't been this szn. Guess it's really hard for him to hide his frustration.

      I don’t know, at the moment he isn’t worth much. I would keep him hoping for a turn around in the second half which would increase his trade value. This season is shot, it’s time to make smart moves for the next.

      @@sir.muffiniii7011 I don’t want to get into a discussion about how an injured player can or can’t have proper mechanics, when you are injured your mechanics suffer. That’s beside the point.
      Let’s use the Yankees just as an example. Why would the Yanks give up anything good for an injured and poorly performing player in an effort to bolster their roster for a deep playoff run ?
      At the present moment Bichette’s trade value is lower than what it could be if he rebounds in the second half. If this season Bo doesn’t get healthy and improve the smart move would be to keep him, hope he comes back next season healthy and back on track and see how that season progresses. If the team is still going no where a healthy Bo Bichette at next tears trade deadline will bring a good return in a trade.
      Bo is a great player and has proven his worth. Toronto should not make hasty moves. If they are going to trade him do it at a time when they can get something worth it in return.
