If P-don gets banned, Choiced Kyogre would be the king of ubers again, with mixed Primal Kyogre only appearing from time to time. Primal Groudon and Mega Ray are definitely overpowered though.

Groudon also made an appearance in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, don't forget. He played a pretty substantial part in RRT and Explorers of S/T/Sky

Kyogre will flush him down a really blue toilet. If you understand the reference, you’re very cultured. The reference is Terminal Montage’s Legendary Pokémon Battle Royal
you know what would have been a neat mechanic for the blue/red orb in the remakes? if making kyogre hold the red orb or groudon hold the blue orb would cause them to act as if they were traded pokemon you don't have badges to train, regardless of your actual badge count.

It holds the tier together. Xerneas and primal ogre would skyrocket fi you banned pdon then you would have to ban them too. Then the mons kyogre keeps in check rise and so on. It itself is not broken in that way that it forces a specific teamcomp but if you took it out pogre and xerneas would cause they would wreak havoc

Reason being that while Kyogre is effectively neutered in the sun and is forced to fall back on Ice Beam for damage, Groudon's Precipice Blades is still astronomically powerful, sun or rain, and gets STAB. Thus Groudon is still a very threatening foe in heavy rain.

It's scary to think that the banning of Mega Rayquaza may have actually made Primal Groudon slightly worse in Ubers than when both were allowed at the same time.
Huh? Yeah absolutely not. Primal Groudon is one of the few Pokemon Mega Ray scares out so easily. You’re in the very uncomfortable position of wanting to switch out against Mega Ray. Except switching against Mega Ray is one of the most dangerous things to do.
@@MasterlyRex8789 My rationale behind this comment at the time was that Primal Groudon tended to match up well into Pokémon that were good into Mega Rayquaza, or at least as good as you could be. Stuff like Xerneas, certain Steel-Types, heck I’ll throw in Mega Gengar for good measure, all lose to certain Primal Groudon variants.
I remember catching Groudon in Omega Ruby. I used a Gyarados which made two of Groudon’s moves useless (earthquake and precipice blades) due to Gyarados’s flying type and made two of Gyarados’ moves useless (hydro pump and dive), due to desolate land. Leaving lave plume and rest as Groudon’s only usable moves, as for Gyarados, it could only use crunch and ice fang.
The 2nd legendary pokemon I ever saw, years ago I had got like a small magazine showing the anime sizes of Groudon and Primal Groudon, ever since then I fell in love with the design(primal Groupon is satisfying for some reason), even though not my favourite competitively(I still somehow try to make it work in gen 9), one of my favourites in design for all time. The first pokemon movie I watched was Jirachi the wishmaker, Meta/Virus Groudon's design ws just amazing.

I remember catching Groudon in Omega Ruby. I used a Gyarados which made two of Groudon’s moves useless (earthquake and precipice blades) due to Gyarados’s flying type and made two of Gyarados’ moves useless (hydro pump and dive), due to desolate land. Leaving lave plume and rest as Groudon’s only usable moves, as for Gyarados, it could only use crunch and ice fang.
The 2nd legendary pokemon I ever saw, years ago I had got like a small magazine showing the anime sizes of Groudon and Primal Groudon, ever since then I fell in love with the design(primal Groupon is satisfying for some reason), even though not my favourite competitively(I still somehow try to make it work in gen 9), one of my favourites in design for all time. The first pokemon movie I watched was Jirachi the wishmaker, Meta/Virus Groudon's design ws just amazing.

Groudon, kyogre, and rayquaza are still the best box art legendaries. They felt so powerful and looked so iconic.
What I find funny is this video was 3 seconds longer than the Rayquaza video................... but Flygon's was longer than both.
