OK, what there is on the song is backing vocals for Halsey/Ashley on the chorus, on the verses they are both singing live. Dom has no prerecorded backing vocals at all that I can hear, but they are both singing their parts live. I think Dom drops out at times because he either B) wants Ashley to sing her parts because it is her gig or B) notices she is struggling and pitchy whereas he is hitting his notes, and if he sings it makes her missing her notes even more obvious. As far as his guitar, it is plugged into a wireless pack that you can see anytime he turns around, it is halfway up his back, attached to his guitar strap, many guitarists who have to move around such a large stage use one. For some reason, whomever was at the mixing board at the FOH, or the person recording it for the feed did not have it turned up. It is possible that it was playing in the house but since the room mics did not pick it up at all, it is doubtful that the FOH sound engineer even had it turned on. Either that or the pack malfunctioned, which is a possibility. Either way, he was playing the parts, but the volume was not turned up, which is on the sound staff, not Dom. But yeah, they both sung live over the whole thing, with backing female vocals layered on the chorus.
Halseys voice here firstly, don't jump if you cant keep it stable sis. AND WHY IS DOM FAKING GUITAR IF HE CAN PLAY?

Ok I love Yungblud and Halsey but this live sucked. First the fake playing of the guitar, I know he can actually play the guitar, why fake it? Second the back play of the vocals is too loud, u can’t really hear their voices. I think they could do better.
I think part of it is that Wango Tango is a huge event. During the Macy's Parade, every, single, artist, ever lipsyncs and uses louder vocals to cover it up. It is impossible to actually hear them, so why bother playing it for real other than visual effect? Obviously they are actually singing here, but it still would be harder to hear because of all the people.
