I've seen some theory about Teyvat itself being the Noah's ark. During his first appearance Scaramouche says the skies are a lie, which is further proven by the fact the moon only has a full phase. This is intentional since there is so much alllusions to the moon - resin is like a crescent, spiral abyss has moon phases, there's a blessing of the welkin moon and even the symbol in domains alludes to the 3 moon sisters, out of which only 1 remained. Additionally, it's written that descending into the abyss is similar to ascending to Celestia as both are braving the great unknown - like the wiccan saying as above so below. The 7 archons also correspond to 7 deadly sins and have the names of demons from the Ars Goetia so this isn' the first time religion was brought into this. Even Paimon is the name of a demon. Teyvat could be like a globe surrounded by the primordial sea. Although Christians believe that God ordered the Noah's ark to be made, there is a different version of that tale where Enki (the Sun god, who is also Lucifer) told the mortals to build it to save them from God's wrath. So it would make sense that if a gnosis is destroyed (it belongs to the demons and keeps the globe intact) the Heavenly Principles could descend and wreck havoc on Teyvat.
