I want to buy a solar cooker/ mirror but do I need to buy extra things to put pot on top?
An old BBQ grill rack works great. We just bought a 20" heavy-duty grill rack for $10 at The Home Depot. We like to keep it simple, something to prop the mirror (bucket + towel) and something to hold the rack. Working on a simple DIY stand that is really different and has many usages. This video was just a bent piece of pipe jammed into the ground. We can cook anywhere in the yard that gets direct sunlight and easy to put away when done.
Can you make a video/ have a video already on this?
What a good husband! Dan always seems to make time to include his wife Denise. We should all be good to our wives and husbands!
I have only wife, no husbands 🤷🤷
Glad y'all are posting videos again!
Thank you Michael!
great, now I'm hungry and impressed at the same time.
hope you guys are well, great video!
Thanks Denise, great video... YUM !!!
Hey Dan and Denise.🙋 I'm watching this video during my lunch break. What a dish! Your food looks more appetizing than mine. Trade ya.😆
Y'all have a great day!
Oh my goodness... I so have to get one of those mirrors. It looks to me the mirror would be better to cook with as opposed to a Fresnel lens, but... I want both.
Not going to pretend I can cook as well as Denise, but you can bet I'm going to try those recipes with I get it going.
ohh that looks good! Making me hungry as hell!
Looks delicious!
Yes Denise does look delicious.
POWERFUL rojas family
That dish literally made me drool. The turkey sausage.. =P~
Oh! I though you meant Denise. Yes, both have the same effect.
I'm on a diet so I'm more interested in food right now. ^_^
Yes, Denise made me salivate.
How much fun they be having. Thats the life.
Would love to but I am trapped in my tiny flat in UK winters..lol..
Hi Dan & Denise, love to have the 29" parabolic mirror. How long will it take to ship in the Philippines?.Love all of your videos, thanks!
love your guys videos. would really like if you guys got a IR heat gun to see what temperatures you got with at your focal points, and therfor what Wattage power your getting. assuming 1000W per quare meter in best cases
Super. I will made it )))
Looks great now I’m hungry!! Haha
looks good.
$179. Good price. Will buy one when I first pay off my credit card.
😎👍
Hello. You can cook inside your kitchen, in the shadow avoiding direct sun, using big flat mirrors pointing the parabolic mirror. Even you can use more than only one parabolic mirror pointing to the same cooking spot. Sorry about my english...
Omar.
تسوي نفسك تفهم يا عمر يالله طبق
Great thing
Nice ta tas.
looks very stable :,)
Bon appeti Dennise
During the course of cooking, did you need to reposition the mirror or did the food cook fast enough that stationary was fine?
Also did you boil the rice and barley over the same mirror or in a different way?
Hi Kent,
The mirror did not need adjusting. The beam usually takes 15-20 minutes to cross the bottom of an 8" skillet. One pound of rice and barley was cooked with this lens with a one gallon pot. Boiling took about 15 minutes then added rice for 25 minutes. That required 2 adjustments.
love your ideas. does the mirror get dirty here from the cooking grease ect from the pan?
Hi Tony,
Yes it does but cleans up pretty good. Some of that was from a pancake video we did earlier. Total mess:-) They still work great, even when messy. Maybe edit that video soon.
Cool! Thanks I really enjoy all the unique ideas you bring to the table. Way to think outside the box!
great camping tool, especially if it was an inflatable lens to pack easily into the backpack
Yum:)
Cool
Invite me over looks delicious
★★★★★ Awesome Report Thank-you!
Thx
0:39 HEY! Your blocking my sun!
I'm hungry! :-)
how do you clean a first surface cooktop?
What is the maximum temperature with this type of solar cooker?
No potatoe was harmed during making of...
wow nice shiner D. certainly not from Dan. I didn't know you where a fighter?! how'd you get it
Shadows from the bright mirror, no shiner.
Your wife is just looking gorgeous!
I think Denise should get her own channel. She would make more money than Dan. ;-)
Where are yall. Why no new vids .
Please, i beg you to make a plastic pyrolysis plant powered by a Fresnel lense and/or parabolic mirrors with a heliostat. There are now tons of videos of diy pyrolysis (converting plastic into fuel via oxygen free heating). There's only one i've found that attempts to do it without using a ton of electricity, propane, ect. to heat the tank. If anyone can do it, GREENPOWERSCIENCE can!
where is the mirror, I dont see anything :S but it works, im heating ! :/
Lovely vid but where is the garlic?!?!,!?!?!!?!???? Hehe ;)
Now my ravioli doesn't taste so good :-(
Was she cooking something...😊
Soczewka FRESNEL jest dużo lepsza.
Fresnel Lens is faster but a parabolic mirror is more like a stove top:
