IAF Mig-21 were as old as F-16. The Avionics suite was superior to F-16. Air-frame was old, true but had gone various upgrades. Advantage F-16 had was the missiles, unfortunately they could utilize them at the right time because of lack of training.
Explanation is pretty worst actually this goes like things good jets with good avionics will be in main position as to detect and targeting enemy beyond visual range here su30 is in main position Next bomber mirage for ground attacks followed by air to air combat machine mig21. The main reason why mig was shot down by enemy is due to lack of greater beyond visual engagement in our missile and radars. The Amram missile has greater beyond visual range compared to indian one. So this is the story indian jets will be flying and f16 fires amraam missile as it has greater range after it enters certain range that is su 30 range it is detected by it and flares up to escape the amraam by that time mig 21 has to informed by early warning radar but due to lack of greater communication within jets the mig 21 got shot down.

IAF Mig-21 were as old as F-16. The Avionics suite was superior to F-16. Air-frame was old, true but had gone various upgrades. Advantage F-16 had was the missiles, unfortunately they could utilize them at the right time because of lack of training.

Next bomber mirage for ground attacks followed by air to air combat machine mig21.
The main reason why mig was shot down by enemy is due to lack of greater beyond visual engagement in our missile and radars.
The Amram missile has greater beyond visual range compared to indian one.
So this is the story indian jets will be flying and f16 fires amraam missile as it has greater range after it enters certain range that is su 30 range it is detected by it and flares up to escape the amraam by that time mig 21 has to informed by early warning radar but due to lack of greater communication within jets the mig 21 got shot down.
