Thanks Dave I will be following every one of these lessons. I know that you have touched on triads in many of your lessons but this going back to real basic stuff is quite an eye opener. Love it
Seriously man I’m excited, I love your playing sooo much because it’s just so musical and melodic..sorry I’m gushing lol but I’ve got great equipment now and I’m ready!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
There's a lot of guitar teaching on RUclips these days, which I appreciate, but Tao of Twang is at the top of the list. Most would charge $$ for something like this. Thank you for your time Dave
Dave, I'm still working this first lesson and loving it.. I've got the two areas of the fretboard you covered, now I'm filling in the balance of the shapes.
Man that tele nice, I had USA exactly as yours , It was in the 90s when I purchased it in a parking lot after calling on the ad. I had just started playing, I’m thinking it was made in the 80s or 90s I’m not sure, but it was remarkable and had a thicker neck than other teles, and I learned heaps on it, I made the mistake of thinking I needed a different guitar but I was wrong, crazy thing I purchased for $250 even back then was fairly low cost for a USA. The feel and sound was distinct from other telecasters ,it turned other players heads when they heard it, that was long time ago, I was recently gifted a brad paisley tele silver one MIM, and it has that feel sound and thick neck and I feel like I got back what I let go in the other tele! Great Content and instruction in your videos! Top Shelf Stuff! Thank you
Great to hear from you man! The red one is aMIM purchased at Elliot Salters pawnshop on Sunset Blvd for $200 lol. Wonder if that place is still around. Never knew who you were gonna see in there. Glad you’re diggin The Twang 😎🙏🎸
Love Day 1 lesson Dave, appreciate your teaching style. Side note: really enjoyed your noodling video and find I myself playing that way the most these days.👍😎👍
I’m looking forward to this series and I’ll start by working these triads all over you were right at the end it helps to visualize the CAGED shapes. Thanks Dave
Great to hear from you! It’s an older MIM Tele. Maybe late 90’s. Thought about replacing it many times but I just like the dang thing after playing it for so long lol. Welcome aboard 🎸😎✌️
Absolutely right! Thanks for letting me know. Not much I can do about the video now but can address it on Day 2. The first progression we are going to use treats the A Major as a Dominant 7th. Originally I wrote and labeled it that way but figured it might make better sense for some folks if we started with extracting the basic triad from the Major scale rather than Mixolydian. Ended up with one octave of each lol. Great to have you onboard. Thanks again 😎🎸🙏
Not sure if this has been pointed out below or not, but I think your A Major scale at 14:42 is incorrect. The "G" on fret 12 of the G string, is wrong, it should be "G#" on the 9th fret of the "B" string, no?
Absolutely! It might make more sense to choose your positions and things differently sometimes and later on when start bending strings more you can always slide instead of that works better. Great to hear from you 😎🙏🎸
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons Same. You covered this at the top of the video in terms of keyword stuffing for RUclips, but this is chord tones, right? Not really triads in the strict sense (1-3-5 in sets of three).
Hey Dave, just heads up that the A maj scale in 'C' shape is slightly incorrect, whereas it should be a G# directly behind the A on b string instead of G note on the g string.
Happy New Year from the Republic of California. Would love to visit Oklahoma but having some difficulty getting an entry visa! Working on Day 1 lesson. I am having one small problem. When I work I work hard. When I play I play hard. When I study I go to sleep! I am feeling very dozy at the moment. Will try harder. I think I have over learned the noodling lesson.
It’s called your algorithm. RUclips and Google, etc. no exactly what you look at so that’s why it suggest the same stuff all the time. when it’s what you search will continue to be recommended
Hello Dave, Doug Smith from Denver, Colorado. Patron member. Is this going to be a daily session or weekly? Appreciate everything you do, thanks so much, I’ve learned a great deal from you!

Gonna be fun 😎🍻🎸✌️
Thanks Dave, I’ll be on it.
Hey Jim! How’s that Martin working’ out? Happy New Year 😎🙏🎸
👍👍👍
Thanks for the fantastic lesson! Just notice tha aound 14:30 the diagram has a G on the third string rather than a G#. Love your channel!
Hey Dave!!
Glad to have found this day 1. I’ve been playing guitar a little over a year I feel like I could be getting close to my “AHA!” Moment🙃🙃
Keep us posted! Glad your onboard 🎸😎✌️
Thank you.
You got it! ✌️😎🎸
Dave, what are your Amp settings? I like the sound for practicing. So appreciate you doing this challenge.
It all GarageBand 😎🎸🤟
subscribed, and will give it a go!
Right on man! Welcome 😎🎸✌️
Great lesson, thank you…..What model Telacaster are you using?
Great to hear from you! It’s an older MIM Tele. Maybe late 90’s. Thought about replacing it many times but I just like the dang thing after playing it for so long lol. Welcome aboard 🎸😎✌️
Happy New Years
Happy New Year! Let's get those soloing skills fired up! 🎸😎
subscribed, triads are more clear now to me. Only question ii have is the seventh note of A major shouldn't it be G sharp?
Yes, you're right. There is a mistake at in scale picture at 14:40
Absolutely right! Thanks for letting me know. Not much I can do about the video now but can address it on Day 2. The first progression we are going to use treats the A Major as a Dominant 7th. Not sure if this has been pointed out below or not, but I think your A Major scale at 14:42 is incorrect. The "G" on fret 12 of the G string, is wrong, it should be "G#" on the 9th fret of the "B" string, no?
Yes, you’re right! Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully things still made sense 😎🎸
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons Yes, made sense, just took a moment! (Made me think, I hate when that happens)
Will it work on acoustic?
Sounds like a cool challenge
Absolutely! It might make more sense to choose your positions and things differently sometimes and later on when start bending strings more you can always slide instead of that works better. Great to hear from you 😎🙏🎸
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons Thank you, will be on board. Look forward to hearing from you
Checking in on Day #1. I like the subtle Red/Blue comment :)
Thanks for checking in and Happy New Year friend! Maybe we can hope for a more purple 2025 😎🙏✌️

Good deal! Thanks for checking in 😎🎸✌️
Hey Dave, just heads up that the A maj scale in 'C' shape is slightly incorrect, whereas it should be a G# directly behind the A on b string instead of G note on the g string.
Thanks! Yes, can’t change the video but fixed the stuff in the folder. Important part of that bit is the triads. Thanks for letting me know 😎🎸✌️
Happy New Year from the Republic of California. Would love to visit Oklahoma but having some difficulty getting an entry visa!

Noodling will take you far Wade. You’re always welcome in OK, the syndicate hasn’t fully isolated us yet lol. Happy New Year 😎🎸✌️
You have an error in the 2nd diagram. You have the b7 labeled as a 7 on the 3rd string 12th fret. The 7th should be on string 2 fret 9
You are absolutely right! Thanks for letting me know. Not much I can do about the video but can address it in Day 2. Great to hear from you 😎🙏
It’s called your algorithm. RUclips and Google, etc. no exactly what you look at so that’s why it suggest the same stuff all the time. when it’s what you search will continue to be recommended
Why are scales different in other countries? What's their problem
Hello Dave, Doug Smith from Denver, Colorado. Patron member. Is this going to be a daily session or weekly?
Appreciate everything you do, thanks so much, I’ve learned a great deal from you!
Happy New Year Doug! The sessions will be every day or two until we get through 14. It’s a challenge for me as well lol 😎🎸✌️
Are you talking about your algorithm? There’s a reason triads come up all the time for you. It’s because of what you were searching. That’s it.
Yes. And YT sends data about trending topics and search words to creators 😎✌️
This better work ! Oh no it's not going to work cuz I broke both E strings on my s****
How do you break BOTH E strings lol?
