  • In today's video I'm reviewing the Retroid Pocket 2S, Retroid's latest product and yes I know I am late to the party on this but to be fair this took over a month to ship out so not entirely my fault. Anyways, hope you enjoy!!!

This made me that much happier that I got the RP3+ we are not there yet with full 6th generation emulation but we are damn close.

Hello. I have a few pieces of constructive feedback:
    - Mario Sunshine PAL runs at 25fps so that's why it won't go above that framrate and it shows 100% maybe you downloaded that rom instead of the NTSC that runs at 30fps.
    - Double Dash blue hue issue is a known issue outside Retroid devices, the issue is within the emulator.
    - On Dolphin you can change the settings per game and not globally so there is no need to change the settings back and forth, meaning you can set OpenGL on a game and Vulkan on others.
Otherwise I agree with most of what you said. Keep going!

OMG thank you so much for the feedback and kind words I really appreciate it. I'm still pretty novice to emulation so I appreciate the help my guy.

I have the Retroid Pocket 2+ and I really like this device but I'm not really sure if it's worth the upgrade when the Retroid Pocket 4+ might be right around the corner. N64 and Dreamcast run just fine to me on the RP2+, I even got Simpson's Hit and Run (GC version) and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2 version) to run at or near full speed on it.
I do agree that trying to run PSP games on a smaller screen is kind of dumb, but the option is there so why not? The RP2s screen is 3.5 inch, the PSP Go is 3.8 inches, so it's kind of like playing PSP on the PSP Go but with a tad smaller screen.
How long did it take for you to get your RP2s? When I ordered my RP2+ in early 2022, it took 2 MONTHS before I got a tracking number! I ordered from Anbernic which is also in CHINA and got my device in 6 days!! That's another reason why I'm unsure of purchasing because by the time I do get the RP2s something BETTER might come out.

      Okay.
      1. You might be a genius compared to me when it comes to this cause as I stated in my video I am still kind of a novice with emulation. I don't even know how to get ps2 to run on this lol.
      2. I did say you can if you want. I know for sure already that it can handle it plenty. I just personally wouldn't do it.
      3. I pre-orded it in July 20 something and didn't receive it till I think mid September so almost 2 months.

@@KovanNova Ouch. That's a long time to wait, especially in a market where something newer and better comes out almost every week.

@CykoX yeah I can understand that. I'll admit I didn't know it was gonna take that long cause the originally said shipping started in early August and I don't remember getting notified of my item shipping till early September. And again I was one of the first people that pre-ordered it minute 1.

You can scale PSP rather than crop or stretch but your point is made kid. 4X3 happiness handheld. I've the RP3+ Metal and Flip so this one is a pass but if I don't have them then YUP, I'd buy this affordable puppy.

I still think the screen is just a bit too small for just about anything that's 16 by 9. I feel I would be squinting a bit just too see the game
