I hope they full send with this lock. Button actuated liner locks and compression locks solve nearly every single issue I have with plunge locks. Kizer: _please put this lock on a full size folder like the Sheepdog XL._
A paracord wrap on the lil fixed blades would help add grip and also allow for customization colorwise. My small handed self would love those lil guys, especially for my stocking job
I just the mini grouper last night and I have to say that aside from the look of the scale cutout being two materials, this knife has great action on the opening/closing and a fantastic lock system. Now all it needs is a steel upgrade😉
Heck yeah!! Wonder if this new lock will be better about sticking compared to their other button locks. Btw, Lefty here and the button lock is SUPER ambidextrous. Love the flipper/button combo on my Kaizer Assassin XL.
Did the patent expire on the compression lock in the last year. It's kinda cool we are getting all these new locks. I think axis and triad locks will always be my favorite
I think it expired in 2020 or 2021. The reason it took a while for these companies to drop a bunch of knives with it is that it isn’t as simple as just making a button actuated liner lock. Getting the lock bar to properly seat between the blade and the stop pin (as well as dialing in the detent) can be a pain in the balls as well as making sure the contact surfaces don’t get beaten to shit during use. It’s more expensive to make a compression lock than a liner lock.
I bought one of these, reminds me so much of my old spyderco paramilitary 3 that I put carbon fiber scales on. Lost that knife a while ago but this will fit nicely
Do some more videos of you arguing with yourself about the shaman or anything else.On your "Top" or "Best" videos or any of the ones where you were ranking things, like blade steels or locks you had some pretty good arguments with yourself and it was funnier than hell. LOL Kizer doing button compression locks is awesome!
MC, I know how much you like the MSI, have you seen the new ones with the fluted aluminum scales? I just got the one with the natural aluminum scales. Best version yet!
if it actually tests at 62 hrc, then im gonna have to pick some up. nitro v is a great steel but so many companies run it at 58-60 where it doesn’t achieve its full potential because it sees a HUGE jump in edge retention at 62 hrc
I’m not a huge fan of those particular fixies. I do love the newer Kizer Smolt. Don’t like the little guy. Really like the grouper. And that last design looks like perfect for edc.
It's not a compression lock. In the real compression lock the thin plate engages between the blade and the pin that acts as a blade stopper on both open and closed positions, so to force close the knife you technically need to crush the plate between the blade and the pin until it brakes (thats what makes it so safe). This one is just a liner lock on the other side, yes the button is acting like the blade stopper pin on spydercos but I don't think is as strong as the original.
It's looks less than a compression lock and more like the kind of button actuated, two point engagement back liner lock that Daggerr Knives have been doing for years.
it looks exactly like a compression lock. it wedged the liner between the drop pin and the tang of the blade. a back liner lock would engage at the bottom of the tang only.
@@acid6urns Ok then. I have only one Spyderco and haven't studied it too closely. On Daggerr button locks, the liners get wedged between the tangs and flipper tabs for extra strength.
The G10/CF material looks hideous, especially on the sude where its milled out and contoured. The knife is otherwise cool, and the button liner / compression lock is awesome!
Review the fixed blades. Come on cheese ball. I listen to your Content as a left-handed knife Carrier even though most of your knives do not have a reversible pocket clip. A fixed blade is a true ambidextrous knife come on give me a review
MC is a design reviewer.. fixed blades are all 90% the same and not much to review in terms of design. Many other channels for you to watch if you want a fixed blade review
@@metal_complex I get it. I know how it works. I just gotta give you a left handed comment now and then. I really enjoy you content. Glad your listening. Now if we could get miguron to listen...
I live in Alaska, we laugh at the people who pronounce the L in Salmon. Everyone who pronounces the L lets us know they are not from around here and are an ass.

"are you a compression lock, I think you are a compression lock" lol
There is nothing wrong with talking to your knves. It's if they start talking to you.
I'm a compression lock, but I identify as a buttons lock.
M'y pronouns are tchack/ clack.
I hope they full send with this lock. Button actuated liner locks and compression locks solve nearly every single issue I have with plunge locks.
Kizer: _please put this lock on a full size folder like the Sheepdog XL._
oooooooh thats an idea right there
Finally we’re getting into the compression lock era
A paracord wrap on the lil fixed blades would help add grip and also allow for customization colorwise. My small handed self would love those lil guys, especially for my stocking job
Button liner / Compression locks with studs of course are the BEST for EDC - IMO 😜
I just the mini grouper last night and I have to say that aside from the look of the scale cutout being two materials, this knife has great action on the opening/closing and a fantastic lock system. Now all it needs is a steel upgrade😉
Leaf shaped blade on the button operated compression lock, and G-10 carbon fiber scales......
probably just a coincidence.
Very sage suggestion. But seriously, kinda cringe. I get it though because it's an awesome knife design
Love this guy talks shit to his viewers the same way I talk shit to my friends and family lol
Welcome friend/family 🤝
I think in a past life MC was a resident of NJ.
Talking shit is how we show affection.
There he goes with the nick shabazz cracks 9:11
Heck yeah!! Wonder if this new lock will be better about sticking compared to their other button locks. Btw, Lefty here and the button lock is SUPER ambidextrous. Love the flipper/button combo on my Kaizer Assassin XL.
A compression lock Militaw would sell out nearly instantly. I'd be surprised if they weren't working on one already.
Did the patent expire on the compression lock in the last year. It's kinda cool we are getting all these new locks. I think axis and triad locks will always be my favorite

Can we just trade all the plunge locks for these button operated liner locks?
I bought one of these, reminds me so much of my old spyderco paramilitary 3 that I put carbon fiber scales on. Lost that knife a while ago but this will fit nicely
Shamanamfering is a great way to explain a knife having shaman like chamfering. 😂
I would LOVE KIZER to make a 4 inch blade version of The Grouper model..Looks Awesome in so many ways.
Do some more videos of you arguing with yourself about the shaman or anything else.On your "Top" or "Best" videos or any of the ones where you were ranking things, like blade steels or locks you had some pretty good arguments with yourself and it was funnier than hell. Getting evil villain vibes with that laugh dude. "I'll have the grilled shaman with mixed vegetables"
This was me on Christmas morning growing up as a kid awesome 👌
I’ve got 2 mini groupers. Love love love that knife
If that's the mini grouper I would LOVE TO SEE the original
MC, I know how much you like the MSI, have you seen the new ones with the fluted aluminum scales? I just got the one with the natural aluminum scales. Best version yet!
That Nice Guy wasn’t on my radar until this video. That looks like a great knife!
That Kizer looks alot like the Vosteed Nightshade.
Where would you rank crossbar/axis locks, put it closer to liner lock, or put it wwaaaaaaaayyyy closer to compression lock?
Mini G is a winner. I'd love to see my entire Civivi/Kizer EDCs thus configured.
MC, you're messing with my OCD..😆
The mess you're making...😆
Im excited about the nice guy and the mini grouper
Excited for this one especially now that they are advertising that most of their nitro v is hardened from 61 to 62!
if it actually tests at 62 hrc, then im gonna have to pick some up. nitro v is a great steel but so many companies run it at 58-60 where it doesn’t achieve its full potential because it sees a HUGE jump in edge retention at 62 hrc
Thanks! Cheers!
I love Boker Plus Midgard Messer designs small fixies. I have two.
I’ve recently purchased 2 kizers and now I’m a fan! Does anyone know where I can get a Kizer Escort with micarta? Please I need that knife lol.
I’m not a huge fan of those particular fixies. I do love the newer Kizer Smolt. Don’t like the little guy. Really like the grouper. And that last design looks like perfect for edc.
Mini Grouper very shilin cutterish Vosteed nightshade competition?
Spyderco Shaymin? Isn't that 4x weak to ice?
Only in its alternate form!
Oh good a comprehensive lock on knives that actually may be affordable 😱😱😱😱😱😱 go get them Kizer
Doesn't Vosteed make something similar? Basically the same lock as the Syderco Smock.
Maciej Torebe - polish knifemaker ;)
Didn’t compression lock patent expired 2-3 years ago?
Great video man 👍
Reminds me of the Bugai.
Isn’t the normal grouper also a button operated compression lock?
Nvm. I’m retarded. I was thinking about the mini grouper. But I’m surprised that mc didn’t already know about it.
Been saying it wrong for 6 years, sounds like a good time to learn how to say it right.
Got mine! 👍🏻
The dogfish is one of knive on my list to buy
Button actuated greatness...
Engage.

Hey metal, Love your vids brother!! Keep up the great work! Also how can we win some of your giveaways 😂
Let's make a mess . Thank you kizer for both the mess and a compression lock .
I like how you say Shaman hahaha
It's looks less than a compression lock and more like the kind of button actuated, two point engagement back liner lock that Daggerr Knives have been doing for years.

A compression lock by any other name... smells like pivot lube.
The G10/CF material looks hideous, especially on the sude where its milled out and contoured. The knife is otherwise cool, and the button liner / compression lock is awesome!
Yeah..Spyderco did the indigenous thing...chief, native & shaman, which really is shaw-men in pronunciation & yes, I know u know that😚
Love the grouper. But stickyback plastic over G10? So cheap and nasty! 😅ATB👍👍👍
Nice guy= kizer version of the we banter?
🥴 the way you do unboxings drives someone with OCD nuts....that would be me. 🤣😂
9.8 for a box top slap
It's "SHA'u-uH-mâ-ń-ëh"
I'm guessing when you were a child at Christmas, you made your parents very happy (until they had to clean up 🤷🏻)
Compression style lock, mildly leaf shaped blade.... seems like shots fired at spyderco
I thought the geometry was more like the Nightshade.
Esthetically? Cool. Usability for me? Ehh.
METAL?!!
Shaman does NOT rhyme salmon!!! Lol.
HEAVY MWTAL???

Kind of a weird comment
I'll review it if it's interesting. Most fixed blades are uninteresting.
There. Now you know how it works 👍
@@metal_complex I get it. I know how it works. I just gotta give you a left handed comment now and then. I really enjoy you content. Glad your listening. Now if we could get miguron to listen...
I'm not watching fixed blade reviews... No one asked, but that's my two cents.
That’s not how you pronounce shaman 😂
Oui loik thit liull feexed blayd ind thit compreeshin lock knoif!
I live in Alaska, we laugh at the people who pronounce the L in Salmon. Everyone who pronounces the L lets us know they are not from around here and are an ass.
Welp. There goes $80 🤣
Thank God Spyderco didn't come up with the button. They'd charge an extra $100 for it.
Smock. Usually around $200
they literally have multiple button actuated comp locks lmfao there’s a bunch discontinued but the smock still exists
@@acid6urns Totally forgot about the Smock. Thanks for the reminder. I'd say the Smock was reasonably priced for what you got/get.
Price first, not hard
I love it
Thit noice goiy iz noice iz wayll.
Shaman like... 😂
The grouper looks like the mini nightshade with a better lock, but get rid of the flipper tab!
You should be aShaman
If only the grouper didn't have a flipper tab... Almost perfect
I can't find you on Instagram. WTF?
Kizer knives 👍👏😂
Huh
😎
Jeez...opening all these awesome knives with zero care. Smh.
Shamminamphering😂
Not a big fan of these plain little fixies
I'd totally buy that grouper if it had a better handle material. I went to a few different websites and all they have is that laminate carbon fiber 🤮
never been drawn to this brand for some reason, not sure why
It’s a sham man
Just bc you’ve been doing or saying something wrong for 6 years doesn’t mean you should keep doing/saying that thing.
1st😁
Thanks
