  • Frederique Constant's Geneva-based watch manufacture released their newest in-house caliber with the FC-719 automatic movement. It has the time and date (now with a seconds hand!). Frederique Constant is a good choice for those looking for watches with in-house made Swiss movements that aren't too expensive. This Classic Manufacture is based on the original Manufacture Maxime timepiece from a few years ago. The 42mm wide case is 18k rose gold plated steel and has a lovely classic looking dial. On the year you see the movement through the sapphire crystal display back.
    The retail price for the Frederique Constant Classic Manufacture watch is 1,950 Euros. You can read the full review soon at the watch review site www.ablogtoread....

    It is one of the most elegant watches that exist, it is not common to find a case of this type, precious piece

    I do have this one. It's has been about 8 -9 months since it was given to me by my wife. It is not my everyday watch. I do attempt to be extra careful when I am wearing it. I do absolutely love it. Price/quality is very well balanced. This video does not do justice to this timepiece. Apsolutely purchase it if you are in a position and do like it.

    I purchased this watch four days ago and I am extremely pleased with it. The video and photos do not do justice to the actual appearance of the watch. The decoration on the dial is outstanding, at a par with much more expensive watches. To have an in-house movement at this price is pretty amazing. The only other watches that do this are Nomos and Seiko, and IMHO both those watches do not have the superior look and finish of the FC. Accuracy: it has lost 12 seconds in four days. Pretty good

    Fantastic. Amazing detail for a watch of this price. If FC had any heritage, this watch would cost double or more.

      Too bad, Citizen bought them so this makes the brand go even lower in value.

    • @uyt6uyt5
      @uyt6uyt5 7 лет назад +1

      M VIS: Why? Citizen also makes some very high-quality watches for a very reasonable price. Furthermore, FC is still its own brand with its own quality control, designs, and manufacturing facility. Omega is owned by Swatch.

    I've changed straps 4 times in 5 years on my silver classic. Black, brown and now I have a navy one :)) It looks cool and makes me feel the watch is new.

    I absolutely like Frederique Constant!!! This brand is a good choice for affordable luxury-looked watches, especially with a in-house made movement! The dial looks pretty well done too, I love it!

    Yes you are correct. FC made a strange decision to separate the lines even though one is essentially the next step of the other. Why this latest model doesn't contain "Maxime" in the name is anyone's guess. But I think they are trying to simplify the naming scheme of the collection. Thanks for the updates.

      this brand is slagged off a lot which is unfair who can afford a patek for gods sake! a jeauger le coulture is a good alternative if you cant afford patek which lets face it is most of us! even then your talking about 5000 minimum unless you go down the used market

    You repeatedly said this is the Maxime Classics Manufacture... it is not. They are two separate lines. This is the Classics Manufacture. The Maxime Manufacture is a completely different line. A quick search of the Frederique Constant website before doing a review may be in order. This video may confuse people. Your description also incorrectly lists the movement as the FC-719 where it is actually the FC-710. A little more attention to detail will really go a long way.

    This watch looks so dull and fade in this video.It is actually much more rich and full of reflections and energy when you see it at any AD . You will feel its luxury.

    @PotterWinchester I met with Stass earlier in the summer to discuss this and I think there is a big effort to push forward with the US market.. This coming week I am meeting with their US President an. Am happy to ask any specific questions you have.

    You are welcome. Do you think that FC will get more recognition in the US market? Their biggest sales are in Europe and they are quite limited in their distribution in the U.S., and do not advertise much. Staas says he wants to expand the market in the U.S., but they will probably need to come out with a sport or dive line to do that, and drop the quartz. And try to market an American version of the runabout or the Chopin (Gershwin?).

    i recommend you an affordable camera with removable lens, in order to be able to buy a lens wich can make close ups or a camera able to do that , to really appreciate details in watches, that is what they are all about, aren't they?

    Hello,
    I really enjoy watching your videos - whether they are about timepieces in my budget, or about those that I cannot afford just yet (but have interested just the same).
    I fell in love with this watch, read a lot about it on the net (not much info available though) and actually went to an AD and looked at it, love it.
    My question is this: what do you think about the resale value? I won't pay full retail, but still I wonder what resale is on FC watches. Would you share your thoughts please?

      spndrp I mean that few brands are as big a joke in the horological community as Frederique Constant, and if Adams is reduced to reviewing this crap, it's a sure sign that his career is at an end. Good riddance, I say, I'm sick of that smarmy jerk anyway.

    • @SkinnedLynryd

      Arthur Serino Why the hate for them? I'll grant that you would be better with a Nomos or such at this price point, but FC at least is a manufacturer. They're not as bad as "designer" bs watches, but they're doing some things right while others like Tag are going very wrong.

    • @arthurserino2254
      @arthurserino2254 7 лет назад

      Nomos is pure garbage on its face. Tag is largely devolved, but at least they used to be a real watch manufacturer, once upon a time. FC is capitalizing on this newfangled hysteria over "in-house" movements, but they have no history, no expertise, and no credibility. It's just cheap crap with a fancy-sounding French name designed to fool gullible customers who couldn't tell you the difference between a Fredequire constant and a Vacheron Constantin. An AP with a DD/JLC movement beats an in-house piece of shit any day.

    • @SkinnedLynryd
      @SkinnedLynryd 7 лет назад

      Arthur Serino I've serviced a Nomos, they're high quality movements. I haven't opened up an FC, but I wouldn't expect anything egregious. A friend of mine has one which I may be servicing soon so I'll update if need be. I think you're right that they hope to sell to an uninformed market, but if they had a different brand for their in house movements they could garner more respect imo. There's nothing wrong with new companies making their own calibers. It's definitely not as easy as resting on laurels like some older brands which have declined. So I applaud true attempts at new watch companies. I think their low cost ETA movement models definitely bring down their image more than anything.

  • @AFrenchman31
    @AFrenchman31 9 лет назад +2

    This watch is powered by an ETA swiss-made movement... Certainly not house-made!

    • @ixa7fxi
      @ixa7fxi 9 лет назад +19

      ***** I think you're confusing this model with their base model slim line. The base model features a Sellita movement, but this is indeed an in-house movement with date function at 6, similar to the in-house movement they use in the slim line moon phase.

      But it costs a lot more, so that makes it luxury!
