香港高官的薪酬制是承傳於於殖民時代，97回歸後依然用同一個scale and annual increments, 26年矣，沒有個人或團體要求減薪，所以香港的 港督/特首 的薪酬都在世界最高水平，連世界最民主燈塔國 總統/總理 的薪酬都自愧不如。
請不要錯怪香港政府了。

香港政府應該革命性大幅度調整香港政府自己本身的龐大臃腫高昂的力各級官員薪酬開支! 否則只會永遠民不聊生 ! 即使再壓榨平民大眾 也榨取不了多少民脂 因為早已經被榨乾了.
英殖民時代各级高官薪酬和英軍保護費開支龐大，當時的民不聊生被淡化咗，冇人提起。
當代的人口和建築密度比英殖年代臃腫和高昂是值得理解的。
