NixOS Intro - Installation and basic usage

Nix is a very different yet powerful package manager. I struggled a lot when I first started and I hope my videos can help you use Nix more easily. My goal is to teach you what resources are available to you, this should be very useful especially when you are stuck.
In today's video, I will show you how to install and use NixOS. I will do two more, one for home manager and one for nix flakes .

Great Nix intro video! Sadly on the corresponding blog post, some (intro) text is corrupted, for example the text "I switched back to Linux" occures twice and then the text stops in the middle of a word (search for "are on homebrew. As muc" and "VMs and I no"). I guess the most important info in the text is ok, but wanted to let you know... Nevertheless it's quite useful and it was a pleasure to watch the video, thank you for that!

I noticed that at 8:27 you are copying the ssh key from the website, how do you make sure that your own key matches the one copied from the website?

I have the matching private key locally on my devices.
