I'm moving over there in 6 months from Idaho to live with my boyfriend, who is a Kiwi. The visa thing is a bit stressful on how to go about it. I THINK I need to go on a travelers visa for the first year, then apply for the partnership visa after living with him for 12 months. Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I'm sorry I simply think it is wrong for a foreigner to be advertising for more foreigners to swamp New Zealand. Have you ever considered if this is what the New Zealanders want? Everyone who goes there seems to do so for their own selfish purposes. Those poor people will soon become a minority in their own land. I think this video is in very poor taste and no I am not a Kiwi just someone who knows many of them are unhappy about this.
I empathize with what you are saying. The key factor you are missing is that NZ is desperate for certain skills and some of them they don't train for in NZ so have to hire from overseas. You don't really have to worry about immigrants coming here unwanted as Nz immigration is very strict and will only take people that benefit their country.
