I’m a retired school teacher who is finally getting to really understand and appreciate what actually goes on when I turn the key and my engine roars to life, thanks to your clear explanations and well presented videos. You are an excellent teacher! No worries about the videos being too long to hold the viewer’s attention. I’m watching them the second and third time to make sure I don’t miss anything.
As someone who has been a mechanic their whole life. I still appreciate this channel and enjoy the adept ape. Still such a great name I am curious where he came up with it.
OH I WATCH START TO FINISH AND ALWAYS THUMBS UP!!! I CAN HEAR THAT LIL BLESSING EXERCISING THE LUNGS! LOL.. I RAISED FOUR DAUGHTERS, PUT THEM THROUGH COLLEGE AND LOST ONE IN 2015 TO CAR ACCIDENT, SHE DANCES IN HEAVEN! GREAT CHANNEL.
Length was perfect for individuals who are interested in learning. Hope comments showed you should keep the detail in your videos. Great work on the videos.
I think the video length is perfect it's not too long and it's not too short because this is a very important information about engines and I think if you shorten the information time it may not sink in. Those who care and love the engines and the learning will stay
I agree with the guys below me in the comments no problem with longer videos. I just got done watching class 1 2 and 3 today and probably will watch one more. If people are interested they'll keep watching. Thanks for making the videos.
Your classes are really helpful. I know nothing about diesel engines and am going to buy a truck with one. You are really helping me to understand how they work and the correct vocabulary. Thanks. Please keep making videos.
Besides the invaluable education that you are providing us, for free, I'm really impressed with the way you expend significant effort on providing accurate nomenclature, terminology, and english (grammar). It seems like in the advent of computers (smartphones, AI, etc) that not many people pay enough attention to proper and accurate communications, anymore. Thanks for all you do!
Josh I personally don't have a problem with your videos being 30mins long if you need to, to be able to cover the topic. Keep them coming please. Cheers Adrian
I think the length of the videos was always good, I even come back and watch them again. There are no shortcuts to learning something right. Congrats on all the content...
Well sir, you could watch a 30 minute video of yours. However, you can put out a hell of a lot of good information in 10-15minutes. Your explanations of the various topics are concise, precise, and so simply explained, that a numb skull like myself can understand, and I very much appreciate that about you. Thank you for these videos. P.S., maybe you could let the newest edition to the family introduce him/herself on camera...? That would be pretty cool too.
Appreciate the knowledge ! On the "simple" stuff 10 min is good, but on the technical stuff, don't skim over it for the "attention challenged" : ) Some of us watch for the details and tips that can only come from someone who has done and does it . Thanks !
I have no problem watching and paying close attention to a 55 minute long instructional video. Please keep making them and keep numbering them and a playlist would be welcomed.
I work as a rail car technician at the moment. I got offered a really good paying job as a diesel mechanic so I'm trying to relearn all this. You're videos are fucking Golden, amigo. Thank you very much.
Man Im not minding the length but I understand the the RUclips side of things also so do what you gotta do. We love the content you are putting out and will watch and rewatch all ur videos 🤙🏼
Yes Sir! well said. 👍 Is like saying, what holds tha vehicle up? 🤔 the tires, nope. the shocks, axle bearings, nope. It’s the air inside your tires, that holds your vehicle up.👌🇺🇸👍
Video length is fine, and you can't please everyone. Good job with the videos. I like the way you explain and breakdown.. Thank you, from Guyana, South America
I am getting into diesel mechanics in the garbage industry. I've slowly been learning as we deal with more hydraulics thank most diesel trucks but learning the engine is very important. I have studied with no schooling, and this is giving me a really good insight into mechanics. I know how to change oil, filter, and diesel filters. So, I appreciate you making these, truly! I never thought I would see myself being a diesel mechanic but here we are so again, thank you for this.
@@AdeptApe LOL. Hey at least you got the job done digitally. I'd have to draw them and photograph them in stop action style... and even then I'm not sure anybody would know what it was supposed to be.
Just want to thank you directly for this video series. I'm currently in my first semester apprenticing to become a tech. Our instructor for 101 courses is knowledgeable but struggling to adapt to covid teaching (with zoom). This series is great to teach complete beginner (like me) the basics.
If people cant keep focus for more than 10 min maybe they are in the wrong section, thank you so much man I work 12 to 13 hrs a day I watch the videos to work and to home from work then get a note book even if I can do 30 min take notes, helps alot , school would be atleast 3 times a week with maybe 3 to 4 hrs, you explain it very well , thank you
Man you have no idea how much u've helped! I had ZERO knowledge. And after the first 2 classes I impressed my mechanic buddys and was actually able to help on the engine.
Thanks for the video, Josh. Your videos are extremely useful and beneficial to me and my career. I also don’t mind the length of the videos. The more info the better. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for taking your time and making these videos. Even as someone who knows a good amount about engines I'm learning more with each one. You are informative but able to stick straight to the point and keep me engaged in what you are teaching.
Video are perfect length, made me sad that you’re shortening them cause of other people. Lot of great Information, awesome imagery, baby in the back adds a personal touch lol. keep’em coming
thank you for making these videos. I have a diesel car and wanted to take the mystery out of my diesel engine setup. Congrats on the baby. Actioned: Subscribed and Thumbs Up on the videos I watched.
Great job explaining it. Shorter videos explaining each part and function will keep viewers watching the entire video and learn more without information overload and not absorbing all the information you provide. Thanks for all the info you provide.
Very good explanation but alas people don't care about in depth they want surface knowledge that's sad reality of most humans. Any way you have told things which many expert can't do I really appreciate your efforts and you need much much more views for serious learners 🙏🙏
I almost forgot how massive the bearings were on a cat motor. We did a out of frame rebuild under warranty and when we brought the motor back we went across the scales to see the weight. It was about 3.4 tons and we hauled it on a 2 ton trailer. Didn't look that heavy but it was heavy enough that we had to let the air out of the trailer tires to get it off the trailer and onto the a-frame hoist. Took a couple hours and a handful of people just to persuade it back into it's frame.
Thanks for making these. I've got two diesel tractors here that both have engine problems I need to fix since I cant afford to hire a onsite service call right now. Maybe if I watch enough videos I can figure out how to get them running again.
I actually was thinking about clicking out of the first video in your series but, I have a 84' International 9670 with a BCIII and I need to learn everything I can about it and you explain things in a way that I can follow. Thank you.
Keep up with the lengthy videos. I'm a mechanic but I'm also looking to further my knowledge into diesel. Ive learned the basics through your last few videos. Keep that shit up. #knowledgeispower
thanks for the classes you helped me figure out what was wrong with my 3126 you told me to replaced the heui pump and change oil regularly, I replace it every 6000 miles and it purrs, appreciate you
Man! I enjoy your videos and have been a subscriber since the early days! I rebuilt my first c15 with the help of your videos. Of course I followed specs and did everything by the book but your videos and very helpful info helped me keep my job and better myself in a career that I love and enjoy! Thank you very much and god bless with the new baby!!
Really useful informative videos! Good job mate! Been doing various jobs on different diesel vans for years without actually knowing the basics. Just been picking up knowledge from others here and there and teaching myself when I need to do repairs. The engines you describe are a much larger cc than the two I currently have ie 2.5 tdi Volkswagen and a 2.2 tdci Ford. But the theory is all the same and definitely helpful to know. Thanks!
Appreciate these videos man. I’m looking into becoming a diesel tech so this is all great info. Keep em coming! Don’t mind the lengthy vids. Lots of information to share so thank you
I was fine in the length of the videos, apparently some people just don't want to learn lol... congratulations on the baby!
exactly!
I want to longer episodes for the future ones, these are just small steps in the door
I'm fine with the length to, If someone gets bored watch something else
I'm pretty sure he don't make these to entertain people, they seem more geared towards learning so I don't see the problem
I would have watched a three hour video. If you don’t want to learn, go watch something else.
Ide be happy with this entire series as one long episode 🤣 this guy is great

I'm really enjoying these classes. As a person with next to nothing in mechanic experience, I appreciate the channel. Thanks
Same here......never a better time to be a learner.....as Bill Clinton said
As someone who has been a mechanic their whole life.
I still appreciate this channel and enjoy the adept ape.
Still such a great name I am curious where he came up with it.
When interested in the topic, I listen all through
You’re a great teacher I hope you keep up with the videos
Don’t quit the series !!! The length was fine !
I want to thank you for explaining better than some of the teachers I've had.
Those of us that want to learn do not mind 25 min vids at all. Thank you for these Adept!

Thanks for making the classes
A "Pillow" of oil. I'm just loving this, Josh is awesome...

Ive been looking all over for videos that could teach me about engines and ive never seen nuthin like these. I hope you keep makin more🤟🏻
Buddy don’t worry about the time. I’m hooked. Good job.
Animation is spot on. You can even see the connecting rod stretch and bend while in operation. Everybody misses that detail.
I sense your sarcasm there just a little bit sir. Thanks for watching.
@@AdeptApe LOL. Hey at least you got the job done digitally. I'd have to draw them and photograph them in stop action style... and even then I'm not sure anybody would know what it was supposed to be.
These are excellent, well done.
I watched all the way through and plan on doing a double take. Thanx Mr. Ape!

I’ve always thought that the cranks in HD Diesel engines were amazing works of art.
