Dude... Respect. I love how you love your craft. Your gift is strong and you worked hard to develop your skills. I am a beginner but I understand. Thank you.
I am so glad i clicked on this video sean! You have given me the key to the locked door LEARNING MY FRETBOARD! i am frustrated at being such a beginner at guitar but grade 8 on the piano !?SHAPES 💡thankyou so much for helping me find so much more than my basic CAMPFIRE chords on frets 1 2 & 3. Moving on up!👍🤩💯🇬🇧
Thanks for another great lesson. Very helpful!!
Very useful tutorial and, in fact, nicely presented in a more humble fashion. 😉😀
Wow! Just came upon the first video of yours I have seen. I am now a subscriber. Love your approach and explanations. Really great job. Looking forward to more of your teachings. Thank you.
Welcome to the party!
Thanks for sharing all that!
I may have to watch this a few times before I learn this valuable information. But I only had to watch this once to know never to clip my toenails on a flight again.
Thank you for your wisdom and help. Such a beautiful guitar 😍
Thanks for watching!
There’s that D’Angelico.
I just bought the Sweetwater exclusive, premier mini dc xt.
Unbelievable guitar!
I bought a D’Angelico Premier DC about three or four years ago, my first semi hollow guitar. Man I love it. It’s become my number one!
Great lesson! Thanks! I just subscribed.
Thanks, Sean.
Good viddy, good stuff.
Be good to you
Beautiful looking guitar.
Holy crap how did I not notice this in my almost 2 1/2 years of playing!?
Super helpful. Been playing for years and Sean's "symbolic" bites just go right into a brain wired like mine. Stuff just clicks! Like never before. Progress I should have made years ago!
Thanks for saying so!
Hey Sean, really appreciate your videos. Here's a question that's been nagging me and, of all the guitar youtubers out there, I feel like you'd provide the best or at least the most entertaining answer:
At what stage can someone legitimately say, "Yeah, I PLAY GUITAR." (As opposed to "Yeeeeah, not really, I'm learning.")
Obviously you're always learning (or should be.) You're never really DONE. But I feel like there's some threshold where you've kind of earned your first apprentice badge, right? Like, someone goes "Yeah, I'm a guitar player, and here's a little tune you might know called SMOKE ON THE WATER!" No one wants to be *that* guy. Or, y'know, not for long.
All of which being a roundabout way of saying--is there a BASIC set of guitar skills, knowledge, chops etc. that constitute your kind of "Level 1 Guitar Player Trophy Unlocked" accomplishment?
Thanks again man.
My biggest problem learning the fretboard was not knowing all the repeat notes, same pitch. Thanks for posting
this one's is a perfect coupling to your
'This trick will transform your playing: do this everyday for 1 week'
which was an Amazingly helpful vid.
First things first. "Up" is towards the floor and the bridge. "Down" is towards the sky and the nut.
I have found it's impossible to teach with verbal instruction without that basic understanding. If I say "go up a fret" or "up a string", the rookie must respond correctly without a thought.
In the past I have wanted to rip my hair out because somebody who wants to learn guitar but doesn't know which way is up. Sitting across from each other a rookie will tend to slide his hand the same direction as you, before their ear is trained and they begin to learn to whistle with their hand. Thats how I think of it. You can whistle a new song easily with your ear. When you can do it with your hand, you my friend are a guitarist.
I’ve long thought starting in the middle of the fretboard made sense in learning the instrument.
This is what I did. I started at the 7th fret on the 5th string and learned Em/G from there
ok terimakasih, saya akan belajar banyak dari anda
Have you used the shure wireless rig with an acoustic? I have had nothing but hassles with my acoustics with active preamps on wireless. Just asking for a friend… 😊
liked for the guitar advice, subbed because you spoke my truth about allegiant
Delta for life!
Ok the opening statement disturbed me so much I'm struggling to concentrate on the rest of the video
Big Mahalo.
Does Shure make wireless toenail clippers?
Their R&D is hard at work
Half the people on instructors on these RUclips videos they get to talking so fast whole step half-step half step yada yada yada
Tap the screen, tap the settings icon and play half the speed.
Just watch it over and over until you get it
It was RFK, Jr., wasn’t it?
who is watering these plants Bro?
and why cant i seem to keep mine alive?
good vid.
I’m having trouble with this guitar I recently bought of a hillbilly,I find it hard playing the H chord I think it’s the seventh string that maybe out of tune.
That's German Bb right?
@@HunnysPlaylists that’s the one 😉
@@bonecruncher2641 Yes.
Allegiant, they don’t call it the “Greyhound Of The Sky” for nothin!
Theres only 12 notes, then they repeat to infinity
Yes, but, knowing there's only 12 notes that "repeat to infinity" doesn't help you remember their place on the fretboard, now, does it?
Sean...Have you ever listened to yourself at .5X speed? Everyone sounds dopey at half speed, but you sound magnificently drunk. Sometimes I just play your videos at half speed and chuckle. Oh...good stuff too. Thanks for the help. :)
Holy shit, that's hillarious.
I thought he was drunk lol
Mixolydian = Ionian with a b7

SEAN - Did you try to clip your toe nails on Allegiance Air?
what?
Going way too fast. Please slow it down.
Beginner??? I have a 141 IQ and you might as well have been speaking Farsi. You and I have different definitions of beginner. lol This seems more like lesson 22 or 23?
141/2 :) hahahaha
What does your IQ have to do with the flattened 4th and it's relationship to the root?!
Being sarcastic btw, in case you really have 140 IQ; we all know those creatures are spastic as hell.
Every beginner quit after 5 minutes. 😮 click bait
Very disorganized presentation. Not helpful.
Sounds like you'd rather spend money on Berkeley School of music and read every book that they make you buy, instead of a few minutes for a free RUclips video...
@@Notalobster Who is this video for?
Go down a string? Going from a low E to an A string is going up.
Is the ground up or down?
You're going down
Go down on a string?
