I actually like it, the subtle colours and natural ingredients make it much more appealing. I’d be thrilled to produce it. Thank you so much. From Tasmania
Thank you! I’ve been very discouraged with my natural additives but trying to stick to my natural plan. Thank for sharing and your wonder and positive vibe. It definitely helped me today 💜
It really would! I have Pumpkins growing this year with the intention of making a Pumpkin themed soap in Autumn, so I may have to use the Anatto to colour it.
Thank you! I'm learning a Lot from you about colors! I went to our craft store and they had the titanium colorz! I dont want that, it's cancer causing isn't it? So, thank you thank you!
Your soap is lovely, reminds me of the natural layers of sediment in a river bed, ... On a different subject, Have you tried Himalayan Rhubarb for red? A little will make pink but 1 tsp per 100 grams oil makes a magenta red color.
First of all the soap look beautyful. You mentioned you have troubles to find a decent red in natural colorants. Did you ever try rubarbrootpouder. I tell you the red is really red 😍
So enjoyed your video, I have a question about the indigo dye. Is that what is sold sometimes as an indigo hair die or the one for dying cloth, or neither of these.
Hello Cole, We use an Indigo dye which would be the one you can use for cloth. We purchase ours here in the UK from "The Soap Kitchen" so if you search for "Indigo Dye" on their site it will show you the exact one that we purchase along with a description of its uses :-)
The indigo is natural, yes. We use both "The Crafters Shop" and "The Soap Kitchen" for Indigo. This is an old video and rules for using Indigo for soap making have changed now in the UK. If you are UK/EU based you may not be able to get Indigo assessed in a soap recipe that you wish to sell any more unfortunately.
Thank you :-) We did recently try out a Himalayan Rhubarb root soap but really appreciate you mentioning it too as it is one of the lesser well know colourants I think!
@@TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany you are so generous sharing your knowledge that the least we can do is share back. Love your channel and in some dark days you always manage to make me laugh. So, thank YOU beautiful lady 🥰
Love watching your videos, I just finished watching your soaping for beginners which I really enjoyed. I am starting to put recipes together for my assessment, I was wondering if you could let me know where you purchase your clay from as The Soap Kitchen seems to be very expensive and as I understand if they go down as my supplier I will not be able to purchase them from elsewhere. I am not sure if that's correct but it my understanding. Thanks for all your help.
Hello Glenis and thank you for your comment. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our video :-) Yes, The Soap Kitchen is expensive and you are correct that clays are one of the few ingredients where you tend to be tied to your supplier. We purchase our Kaolin, green and yellow clays from mystic moments, our purple clay from Bramble Berry in the US (because in the amount that we buy, it is actually cheaper to buy it from the US and pay import charges and shipping than it is to order from the Soap Kitchen) and we purchase our red clay, dead sea clay and Rose clay from "Found In Bio" online. They are Portugal based but offer a really great service and free, fast UK shipping (at least, they did last time I ordered, but that was before Brexit.......)
@@TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany Absolutely blown away with your response, I really appreciate all the detail you have gone into, it can be really hard when just starting out and still feeling your way around. This help means so much. A massive thank you. I will now start to have a look at the different options you have given me. One very happy lady.
We include the amounts that we use in the "variations" section of our assessment and the assessor will take it from there for us. It is done in the same way that you would include a mica or other colourant in an assessment :-)
Hello, Sussex Handmade Soap Company! I was wondering if you could please help- your Indigo root powder... Where can you source that in the UK, if at all? Been looking everywhere for it, but with absolutely no joy. :( (argh. I would love to follow this recipe!)
@@TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany Thank you, lovelyyy! I did actually find your supplier via another video you made :)) Thank you for your inspiration and assistance
Hi, thank you for sharing these amazing recipes! Would you be able to add mold sizes to your videos? I search through all the comments hoping I would find the size!!! Thank you!! Greetings from Pennsylvania!
Hello and greetings from Hastings, UK! Yes, of course. The mold we usually use is by "Two Wild Hares" and measures 8" long by 3.5" wide by 2.5" deep. Hope this helps!
Turmeric is great for colouring, I agree! We tend to find it gives us a more orangey than yellow colour, though that may be down to how much we use or our infusion method.
These were actually containers that once held sea salt (when we were testing our salt bar recipe) we washed them out and repurposed them for soapmaking.
I am very sorry but I do not have any experience with melt and pour. I know it is not necessarily advisable to use botanicals in them, so I would not know what to recommend as a natural colourant I am afraid.
Hi Tania, Unfortunately we don't have pictures of them at 8 weeks, however all the colours except the green lasted pretty well (the yellow and blue especially so). The green faded really badly to a very pale, almost white shade.
Hi, We use light in colour Olive Oil, which is marginally lighter than regular Olive Oil (though we do use reguar Olive oil if we run out and it doesn't alter the colour in the final bars). We never use extra Virgin or pomace as we find that they have a distinct green tint that does alter the colour of the final bars.
Magnifique savon, Merci beaucoup pour votre générosité de cœur
I love it. I am so happy that i found your channel. Natural and no palm oil. Thank you

Use beet juice for red?
Beet powder is great. It isn't really red either. It is more dark pink but it is more red than the clay.

Do take the oils for mixing colors from measured light weight oil?

Your olive oil is light how come ?

Turn it up the other way it looks like a rainbow!
That's exactly what my Aunt said to me when she saw the soap!
