    I loved your attitude on the soda ash. So many soapers on RUclips say it’s not a big deal but they always seem to steam it off anyway. In turn, when I get it on my soaps, I get so upset. It’s just really nice to see someone really not put so much weight into it. Thank you! I have been enjoying watching you. You have such a great personality!

    Love that orange color from the annatto extract! Where do you get it? I'm fairly new to soapmaking and want to keep it all natural, including the colors. For green, I use powdered alfalfa and keep the soap in a dark place so it doesn't fade too much. Last time I added a bit of activated charcoal to darken it a bit and to help it to last. Those bars are about 8 months now (high percentage of olive oil) and still nice and green.

    wow, that colour when you did the reveal, amazing vibrant colour, I wasnt expecting that from the outside colour of the soap. Love it x

      I know! The soda ash on the outside was quite bad this time so the colours looked really muted on the outside. The inside was more vobrant that I was expecting too!

    I love chamomile, we drink lot of tea and that one is the one that goes faster here. I use natural color ants in many of my soaps and annatto for sure is one of them. Just today I made some hibiscus infused olive oil. Never done it before, but I love the benefits
    Thank you for sharing

      Hi Clivia, Annatto is great isn't it! I love how it doesn't seem to fade during curing. I have wanted to make hibiscus infused oil, but haven't got round to it yet!

    Gorgeous soap Anne & Wayne! Question on the liquid annatto extract you used...is it an alcohol or glycerine based extract? Thanks for the hard work and wonderful videos! Hugs from Texas! :)

    Is there a certain ratio to use with infused oils per 1 lb batch . Or like a safe spot . I’m new to soap making.
    I’ve seen a lot of makers use infused oils for soap but no one ever explains why or if you can replace the full amount of olive oil . Does it depend on herbs.
    Thanks again. Video was very informative

    hi, loved this soap recipe, its very interesting. Ive got a question, i wanted to do an infusion of lavender and rosemary as i have alot in these summer months and was wondering how do you describe these for a safety assessment? i suppose i could use it in my olive oil but do i state them as a dried herb and state my source as home grown? As I'm sure you're aware, there are so many hoops to jump through to get safety assessments. Please help! Thanks.

      It really is one of my favourite colours to work with Sonny, so versatile, easy to use and doesn't fade too much either.

      Hello Ana and thank you for your kind comments! I haven't used Annatto powder in this way before, but there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work, so I would say go for it! :-)

    Hello. For the infusion could you please let me know how much camomile and how much oil in grams I have to prepare and how much time I should let it infuse ? Thank you very much in advance. 😊🌹

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  4 года назад

      Hello, For this infusion we just half filled the jar with dried Chamomile and then filled it to the top with olive oil, we didn't measure the ingredients this time. We let it infuse for around 2 months, but it would be good to use after 4 weeks :-)

    I think your line pour went well, you're too hard on yourself. Have you tried Chlorophyll for green, I find it great and gives a fantastic green, actually far nicer than you can get with mica, it does accelerate trace a little.

      Thank you! I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, which is probably why I think my line pours need more practice! I haven't tried Chlorophyll yet but I have heard good things about it and would like to give it a go - just need to source some from somewhere!
