It’s sort of like peoples genes, everyone is a mosaic of their parents genes. Sry if it’s off topic, but sometimes original is just a massive combination of tiny already done things, because that combination is your own.
As I rewatch Bob Ross as an adult, I've found that I've been using some of his techniques subconscious in my art for years. I used to watch him as a baby/toddler.

One of my favorite musicians/artists, Porter Robinson quoted, "Everything we create, is in essence, a collaboration with millions of strangers.". And I agree, even my own art is a mosaic, it's inspired by countless of artists I've grown to love and admire.

You are the main artist that has inspired me. I never thought I would enjoy watercolor, and a year later it is my main medium. No one I know has ever likes or even slightly enjoyed watercolor. My art teacher pushes my class away from watercolors because of her skill. Thanks for inspiring me to start something new.

U, my good sir, are my first inspiration for art and, after WAY too long, decided to get into art. Turns out, it’s super fun! I’ve been watching all your tutorials and helpful hints for beginners or just in general, and whenever I see one of your videos it gives me the motivation to get up and give it a try, something I cant do with most things I try. Thankyou for starting me on my art journey, you will always be a special person in my life because of this.
Not exactly sure how to articulate my feelings but watching this made me cry.
You’re such a massive motivator for me to make art. I used to get so irritated about how slow I perceived my art progress as, and how I felt like my art just wasn’t original enough in a way, but you’ve truly helped me to realize that making art is supposed to be *fun,* no matter where you are in your art journey, and that it’s okay to yoink ideas from other pieces of art you see to create your own.
I mainly use digital programs now (mostly because (a it saves me on having to buy sketchbooks and (b being able to delete stuff easily is SO convenient lol), but I still dabble in traditional mediums semi-frequently. The most recent for me has been water-colours because of you. Now, I don’t work with color that often. I’ve worked with mainly a pencil and paper (occasionally pen) for the majority of my art journey, but your ability to create such vibrantly colored pieces has definitely inspired me to give it a shot! I’m still trying to get used to the chaotic nature of the paint, but your paintings have given an appreciation for its messiness at times. I even find myself sometimes using a white gel pen to outline everything for an extra pop.
Bottom line is: Your art and your attitude is so, so inspiring. It’s probably weird to get a long winded comment from a random person, but I want to say thank you. You’re probably one of the major reasons I’ve realized I can just make art for fun (if that makes sense).

I love to look at my art and see the little similarities they have artstyle wise with my inspirations. Also props to your art teacher! It's so cool when teachers encourage their student's passions. I as well got a sketchbook from my art teacher when she found out I was using a notebook for my drawing. I'm going into highschool this year and I'm wanting to get into a career in animation and make my drawings come to life.
I was going through a rough time and was honestly really unhappy with whatever I would make and was wondering if I should reconsider what I wanted to do with my life. But with her encouragement, I got through it, and I know this is what I want and this is what makes me the happiest. People don't really think about how a positive influence of a teacher can really help in the long run.
You're really challenging me to investigate my influences more. I really appreciate having you on this platform. As an artist with autism, your work is very inspiring

That is actually really true. I found a design for a fluffy neck fluff (for animal drawings) and I use it ever since. I also had that with hooves and paws. Its fun to get an idea from some1 and it just becomes your style without you noticing!

I love watching your shorts and videos because you inspire me to want to create again. I am definitely no artist (at least traditionally) even though I studied it for the better part of a decade. Baking and music have my heart, but that art OR baking OR music that I have been in since high school has had me in a creative rut for almost 14 years. I’ve been so depressed and anxious everyday because of it, but your videos inspire me to make myself cookies and bake for the people I love. I even made my grandpa’s birthday cake this year for him! The first time I’ve ever decorated a cake! It was a wonderful experience, and I thank you and so many other creators that I see for your inspiration. ❤️🥰

I feel this and I kinda needed a pick-me up today. This did the trick. I learned art because my sister and brother would draw. I began doodling and teaching myself graphite because that's what my dad did. It's insane how much our hobbies and interests are influenced by those around us.

Great for you! My art is also a mosiac. I always learn more from others. Sadly, I am never able to improve my art without others showing me new ways. For me, i don't mind anymore. I love learning others' styles, and my art is basically a bunch of art styles smushed together.
I wonder how long those little elements of art have been going on for, how many artists saw someone they admired paint a certain way and start to emulate it. Was there someone in the 1500s who decided to try a new way of drawing eyes and unknowingly passed it down for hundreds of years? That little element of an art style could have traveled around the world with different artists who shared to it more and more people. It could last for centuries after this, maybe through people watching this video 💜
