The title is a little clickbait... There's two big main ticket to money conversion rates. one is $0.80 per ticket, the other is $0.34 per ticket. The $0.80 one is if you were to only buy the cheapest ticket bundle which would actually be the most expensive while buying the most expensive is cheaper overall. If I use the $0.34 conversion rate, the total would be $260.78. I rounded down the title, that total is actually $613.60.

5 tickets for 3 Mortys
15 tickets for 7 Mortys
40 tickets for 10 Mortys
5/3 = 1.666 tickets per Morty
15/7 = 2.14 tickets per Morty
40/10 = 4 tickets per Morty.
Technically you're correct, buying exotics gives more Mortys but you also spend more tickets. This isn't about spending all my tickets, it's about getting as many Mortys as possible from my tickets.
