Awesome video again and even better shooting. Without the holdover mental mistake you were near perfect in position building and time management.

Thank you, I really appreciate the comment! I’m always amazed at how the videos just kind of come together, I’m filming the matches with an old camera but it does the job.
The December course of fire was a lot of fun. I was so happy I hit all the targets from the unstable tires that I lost concentration on the next shots and unfortunately dropped a couple. Lesson learned, I’ll celebrate at the end of the stage in the future!

Great shooting as always. Amazing you can do it with a different rifle than your normal too. I like the new rifle colors especially that white barrel!

Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately my regular rifle has made its way back home to Vudoo for some repairs so I used my daughter’s rifle with a fancy color scheme this month.

Awesome! I’m making the drive from Columbus. These matches are a ton of fun. They are typically held the second Sunday of each month, so the next one should be held on 3/10/24 if you can make it. You can register on the website Practiscore (sorry I can’t post the link, but if you search Practiscore and make a free account you should find the next Erie County Conservation League NRL22 page. They haven’t posted the next match but they likely will in a few days). If that’s confusing just go to 815 Mason Rd E, Milan, Ohio 44846 around 11 am and they can register you there. Hope to see you at the next match!

@@22LRPhantom what kind of rigs are you guys running? My background is 3 Position and prone. I have an older (2013) Anschutz 1913

Anshutz rifles are really nice. There are a lot of different models I see people running these days to fit a variety of budgets. At the more accessible end you have Ruger 10/22s and Ruger Precision Rimfire rifles. Moving up from there people trend towards CZ 457s, Tikka T1x’s and Begara B14Rs, and on the high end you have custom models like RimX and Vudoo rifles. I’m sure there a bunch of great rifles I’m not listing but those seem to be the most popular. I began shooting with a Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle and love it, but it doesn’t have the fine tuned accuracy of my Vudoo which you see in my videos. I’d say having any rifle that can load up to 10 rounds in a removable magazine, a decent first focal plane scope, and reliable ammo that you know the elevation 100 yards and in and you’ll be competitive any given month.

Nice video Ben but what did you do to damage your Vudoo? Another note is Van needs to step up and replace these lousy targets with better one since they are getting beat up lately.

Thank you! I dry fire my Vudoo before the match to practice the positions/transitions. Vudoo’s are great because they are one of the few Rimfire rifles you can safely dry fire. I had just started to dry fire but the bolt got stuck down and felt like it wouldn’t budge without using a lot of force. I sent an email to Vudoo and within 90 minutes they had got in touch with me. Apparently, if you can completely dissemble the rifle, it would have been an easy fix. I knew if I did that it would never fire right again so they let me ship it to them so they could do it for me. They did a full inspection and found multiple things they could fix, and also offered to cerakote it because the rifle looked a little worn (more than 30 matches this year alone!). Aside from shipping, this is free. Unbelievable customer service, I’m so glad that I went with Vudoo for my rifle. I don’t have the technical skills to fix the rifle, I enjoy shooting them, and to know there is a place with experts I can send it to (even if I had to pay) just let’s me sleep easier at night.
Haha, I’m glad the targets are getting beat up, that means we are hitting them more frequently! Maybe ECCL will get Van some new ones for Christmas?
