FortNikitaBullion you seem to forget Kevin is a kid. They would make sure the adult has the appropriate boarding pass because adults are suspicious. Kids generally are not suspicious individuals.
This was back in 1992 but if this were today, they'd be screwed! Ever since 9/11 happened, airport security has really tightened up to prevent another terrorist attack. You have to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your plane leaves. You can't just run all the way to plane like you're trying to catch a bus, anymore. So today, there's no way they'd make it in time.
Yeah, well they arrived at the airport at the time the plane was ready to leave. Luckily flights never leave on schedule. I mean in the first movie they left the house when there was only 45 minutes before the plane leaves and O'hare airport is like an hour drive from Winnetka (The Chicago Suburb that the house is in).
Did no one in the house have an alarm clock. I know in the first one there was a power outage that caused all the clocks to go out but in this one it was just because Kevin’s dad unplugged the one in his bedroom. I never trusted my mom to wake me up in time for school so I always set the alarm myself
I think the reason why in HOME ALONE 2:LOST IN NEW YORK, Kevin McCallister couldn’t wait until he got on the airplane to Miami, Florida to change his batteries 🔋 in his Talkboy tape recorder portable audiocassette player talkie walkie device toy was because Kevin was suffering time management struggles meaning he really can’t prioritize and decide what tasks, parties 🎉 and festivals, chores, playtime stuff, school/homework, and other time events are important and unimportant due to the fact that he has prioritizing and decision-making conflict crisis in his life.
So the kid was smart enough to outsmart some crooks in part 1 and part 2 but somehow wasn’t smart enough to read what gate number his boarding pass was going to leave out of lol
Since part one and part 2 I'm sure O'Hare airport is still popular with these scenes as well as American Airlines must have had a good sense of humor 😂😂😂
The airline employees at the gate didn’t scan their boarding passes, didn’t check for carry on luggage, they didn’t go through TSA, and they didn’t check in their luggage. Wow, that’s amazing to see how things have changed.
How home alone 2 should of ended 1: Kevin should’ve put batteries in his re play corder in the van. 2: Everyone gets up at 8:00 am 3:Kevin spends 50 dollars for a hotel room 4: Harry and marv gets caught with security cams
The plan 1. They woke up early. 2. Kevin should have putted his baterys in when they were in the airport van. 3. Kevin's dad should have looked behind him to see if Kevin was keeping up with him

Bio terrorism. I mean, I kind of agree with it, but At the same time, we wouldn't be prepared for it either. It wouldn't surprise me either. Hijackers and shit are trying to do everything they can to step over security measures without being noticed.
@@hectorlopez1069 No, the only reason boarding the wrong plane does not occur is that gates now have mobile readers (a technology that didn't exist in 1992) that read the boarding pass's barcode to verify the person is boarding the proper flight. Back then gate agents had to manually read the boarding passes, so given the time of year they probably did a one-second glance. As to security, the same 19 9/11 hijackers could easily board planes today with the same weapons, they would just get knives from food establishments after security, and bring their playdough (fake bombs). However, if they started a takeover today, what do you think everyone's reaction would be? I'm sure they won't say, sure you can have the cockpit and we'll just sit quietly waiting for the plane to land for hostage negotiations. This was a one-time deal.
@romino707 They were those days. They stopped letting non-passengers see passengers off at the boarding gate in the mid- to late-90s, and this was filmed in the early 90s.
They boarding staff didn't even checked the identity and/or ID of the family members! How can they be sure who is who regarding the tickets or boarding passes they have received in hands? But yeah, it's just a movie!
Tomasz Wielinski I know of someone who flew her family across the country to spend Christmas with her parents and brother’s family, but her husband wound up having to cut short his vacation to head back to work. So that person offered the extra ticket on the original flight back, to her grandpa so he could go west to visit his siblings, and there was no problem with the flight or anything. Couldn’t do that today!
0:50 Okay, if some of you seen this scene, I'm pretty sure those are gate letters. Gate H leading to Miami Florida and Gate K leading to New York. Kevin shouldn't stop in the middle of the path before the intersection.
No, those are concourses. I worked at O’Hare over the summer and know that entire terminal like the back of my hand. Gates at O’Hare are designated by their concourse letter and a number. So the departure flight to Miami is at gate H17 while the flight to New York is at gate K17.

Before 9/11, could you really have gotten on the wrong plane and not be noticed? That's crazy!
Never.
I know right kind of like going to a different movie in a movie theater
FortNikitaBullion you seem to forget Kevin is a kid. They would make sure the adult has the appropriate boarding pass because adults are suspicious. Kids generally are not suspicious individuals.

This was back in 1992 but if this were today, they'd be screwed! Ever since 9/11 happened, airport security has really tightened up to prevent another terrorist attack. You have to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your plane leaves. You can't just run all the way to plane like you're trying to catch a bus, anymore. So today, there's no way they'd make it in time.
Alexander Edward Pytko we can blame Osama Bin Laden for it
Alexander Edward Pytko really? I arrive 45 minutes before
Blame your own government.
3hrs is complete overkill
Yeah, well they arrived at the airport at the time the plane was ready to leave. Luckily flights never leave on schedule. I mean in the first movie they left the house when there was only 45 minutes before the plane leaves and O'hare airport is like an hour drive from Winnetka (The Chicago Suburb that the house is in).
I love home alone lost in New York
Best one in the series
NO tickets machines WOW
A man with priorities so far out of whack doesn't deserve such a fine recorder.
Except he's not a man. He's a boy
So the kid was smart enough to outsmart some crooks in part 1 and part 2 but somehow wasn’t smart enough to read what gate number his boarding pass was going to leave out of lol
0:53 Kevin's family went the right way.
It’s not Kevin fault it’s the dads he should of waited for Kevin .
I think it's both of their faults, but I would put most of the blame on the parents, yes.
I think he should of hold Kevin's hand.
This was the part it was on when I first saw home alone 2 when I was a kid I probably have seen it over a thousand times now at least ha
I love this movie its so good great at Christmas
Since part one and part 2 I'm sure O'Hare airport is still popular with these scenes as well as American Airlines must have had a good sense of humor 😂😂😂
Home alone 2 is great
*My sister and her kids trying to catch a flight to see me and our siblings this Christmas:*
The ticket taker who says “we’ll get everybody on the plan” He looks like a Kennedy.
He's cute.
@@kornmaze if he were fat with a double chin would you say that?
Lol
@@bowens9211 Well no probably they wouldn't... That was a dumb question
Dang Kevin, Couldn’t putting the batteries wait till you get on the plane, goes to show you how kids don’t think sometimes
It’s almost time guys!!!
Any responsible parent would keep all his kids in front of him
i love this movie and it makes me laugh
Nice to hear "Merry Christmas" I will never say "happy holidays" it makes me shudder
Tell me more about the War on Christmas.
The airline employees at the gate didn’t scan their boarding passes, didn’t check for carry on luggage, they didn’t go through TSA, and they didn’t check in their luggage. Wow, that’s amazing to see how things have changed.
Everything was different back in 1992.
Kids get presents and mums gives santa a treat
How home alone 2 should of ended
1: Kevin should’ve put batteries in his re play corder in the van.
2: Everyone gets up at 8:00 am
3:Kevin spends 50 dollars for a hotel room
4: Harry and marv gets caught with security cams
5. kevin says he's going to florida so the lady escorts him to the right plane.
I bet the dad that Kevin was chasing to New York look like his real dad twin brother
The plan 1. They woke up early. 2. Kevin should have putted his baterys in when they were in the airport van. 3. Kevin's dad should have looked behind him to see if Kevin was keeping up with him
He must have gotten confused with the man in the light brown coat. His dad is wearing the same colour too.
If Kevin loaded up his battery on the airplane, then none of these would happened🤣
Yeah then the series would have not been called home alone
Ya, check-in is always 2 hours ahead before take off!🕛✈
Back when airports were less strict with boarding.
Any person can do anything they wanted at the airports. September 10, 2001 was the last day, any person could do whatever they wanted at the airports.
@@hectorlopez1069 I just find it really saddening though. All because a bunch of fuck heads decided to pull some stupid shit.
I read an article somewhere that another attack could come eventually.
I'm flying to LA in 2 weeks from London, and I REALLY wanted to change at O'Hare so I could recreate this scene... sigh, it was not meant to be.
This took place in 1992. You didn’t need to show ID for boarding passes back then
This was the Early 90s. Airport Security was VERY lax back then. I fondly remember.
@@Harmonmj13, oh. Okay. Thanks for the answer! I would have known the parts of the airport well.
It’s amazing that TSA’s weren’t around in here otherwise the family would’ve missed the flight.
Regular Invader
Thanks to 9/11 9years later, there's TSA
The TSA was around, they were just way, way less strict.
Great job John 👏
So this was what airport security was like in the 90’s. I had forgotten those times.
They don't show the security in this clip. It starts after they cleared it.
😂 it’s so easy to get lost at O’Hare Airport because it’s so big and overcrowded
I agree it isn’t like Lambert Airport in St. Louis where 2 concourses are vacant and not that much people
that’s the best.movie.ever!
The best sequel ever.
Imagine them taking a trip a third time. Where’s Kevin??😂
What a bunch of careless folks!!
That is so cold to Kevin that his dad thought everyone was there except his mom she is worried but Kevin following someone who looks like his dad that is why I mention that so cold
Kevin should have waited to put his batteries in when he got on the plane
@Mikijpele
Which one, the guy who's asking the ticket attendant to go ahead and board Kevin?
Kevin got the Different Plane.
I’m guessing that woman was fired for messing up as badly as she did.
