Thanks for the lesson on the valve keeper missing , I had forgot about those when I'd worked on one before . Just exams of the valve area payed off . Good video 👍
Nice fix. Saw a vid on something similar the other day. I believe it should kick down to idle and not shut down completely when max pressure is reacched Maybe something to do with pilot valve, throttle control? Thanks again. Yay dog! Lol
As I read the previous comments I am not familiar with an engine that does not have valve caps for their valves but I don't know a lot about small engines. Don't they have those valve keepers as well? Anyway sounds like maybe a bad pressure switch as the engine should not shut off when up to pressure. Great buy. Thanks for the video.
It shouldn’t shut off when it hits the pressure shut off. For the life of me I can’t remember how to fix it. The little cap is a valve lash cap, you don’t need one.

The pressure relief valve on it is stuck it’s supposed to stay running but kick off at a certain pressure
The GX390 only has a valve cap on the exhaust. The intake valve does not get a valve cap.
Yes, I found that out after the video was shot. LOL
@@SmallEngineDIY Sure you're happy to know that you don't have a valve stem cap down in your crankcase.
I really like working on these engines and all GX type
I guess I will go ahead and try to Fix mine. Thanks

I've been looking into that...
Valve is probably rusty up and stuck or cable broken. The air control ones have a piston that can freeze up also
Should kick down to idle after 125lbs adjust air line piston position
The Pressure Washer Unloader Valve?
That's it
Can’t beat the GX engine
Easy and simple to fix
One of my favorites. 👍

Do you sale any of the air compressors ??
The cut off is a problem with the throttle adjust. It kicked it back to far and starved it of fuel.
could the dent in the valve cover affect the movement of the intake valve?
It could if it is a large sent. This one wasn't hitting, but I went ahead and repaired the dent
Valve lash set TDC Exhaust stroke.
If you use it alot charge spark plug boot every two years and you’ll coil will last years longer
